FAC Letter to Nextdoor.com
Unlike some social media platforms that prevent someone on the registry from creating an account, Nextdoor.com prevents anyone in the same household as a sex offender from creating an account. That includes, spouses, children, roommates and anyone else who happens to share the same address as a registrant.
In response to inquiries from members, Nextdoor claims that this policy is a condition of the public entities (law enforcement, municipalities, etc.) that they partner with.
FAC sent the following letter to Nextdoor.com, inviting them to reconsider their policy in light of the recent Packingham decision.
Awesome letter FAC….give it to them at full speed.
There is a possibility that some registrants businesses have been harmed due to outing by this group.
If legal action is required, I would like to be a part of it. They blocked me because of living with my husband. They also sent flyers out to the neighborhood inviting everyone to join. They said that on Nextdoor they also list crime and other things. I’m afraid they list out sex offenders.
Would you like a copy of correspondence between Nextdoor and my previous roommate who lost access to her account after I moved in?
Yes! Please send it to legal@floridaactioncommittee.org

I am just wondering, when is this witch hunt going to stop?
Nextdoor, like all other “Social Media Outlets” should let us on there. (They can keep an eye on us there, instead of wondering what we are doing?? LOL) They have Council meetings, City Meetings, Town Halls on Facebook and we cant watch them; yet they tout it as “a Public Event”.
I hope that this is going to be the first step in letting us RSO’s back into; not only Social Media, but back out into the open. Where we can talk with neighbors freely, without wondering in the back of your mind… “does he know me? Is he going to set me up or call the police?”
I have a good repoire with all my neighbors. They know “the truth” instead of what some flyer says.
(plus you “ALWAYS” want to know what Uncle Frank is doing)
