Florida registry gets a new look
The FDLE sex offender database has gotten a new look. The homepage of its sex offender search has a nautical feel, with a lighthouse logo and a ship-wheel icon. Aside from the design change, the ability to search by status (absconded, deceased, deported, etc.) appears to be gone from the new search query, though the results still appear.
Another notable change is that vehicle and vessel information is no longer on a separate page, but appears below the registrant listing. The vehicle information, which is supplied by the DMV and is notoriously inaccurate, is now on the main screen, meaning family vehicles registered to the offender are now more prominently displayed. Bad news for spouses or children of registrants.
At the top of the page is the following, “The information you are about to view has been reported directly to FDLE by the Florida Department of Corrections, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, and law enforcement officials. FDLE compiles and provides this information for public access and does not independently confirm the accuracy of the information. It is FDLE’s desire that the information contained herein be accurate and reliable. Any person who believes information provided is not accurate should contact the FDLE Missing Persons and Offender Registration by phone at1-888-357-7332
or by e-mail at

If your information is not correct, let them know.

I am sorry to post again, but the cops want your “internet identifiers”..
If you have online communications with anyone you have to report. Just to be “safe & legal” I have provided a list for the cops. It lists everyone I have had “internet contact with”…
Cops
FAC
power & light (help chat window)
ATT (same thing)
you tube (reply/comment on videos)
Ebay (communications)
SEE WHAT I AM GETTING AT?????
I have about 35 websites that I go to (oh yea, publix for subs and Wallgreens for meds) and I will be adding more.
I mean…. we HAVE to comply, dont we?
@Sean I believe it’s better to be safe then sorry but I recall a earlier post that this forum didn’t qualify (After FDLE was asked). Also you are supposedly not required to report commercial commerce stuff ie Banks, commerce, purchases and I believe utilities would also be exempt. Can you imagine having to list those? I know I was told locally to report emails and chat based applications that I was using to communicate with others in a social media context. I know the laws wording is vague and subject to interpretation that is why we have the lawsuit. At least in my area it appears to be enforced under the above representation. In talking about this it makes me wonder if anybody has heard about broader application? Could somebody argue such things as a VPN or cable company internet account? They are not social media accounts but components needed to facilitate social media connections. I think we may have some huge gray areas with applications that don’t directly get used for social media communications but might have a component. What about a gas price reporting app you are using to find gas for a car but also lets you report gas prices at your local station and uses your account or nickname to show reported by “John Doe” the law itself is confusing.

I agree with you. Whether you did do something, accused of something, or was falsely accused, we are all in the same boat right now.
My 3 month cop, came by about 2 weeks ago. I told him about the “internet identifiers” (which he knew nothing about–he just knew about the e-mail) and that I would submit it to the “once a month” deputy.
I told him about the “cars”… He looked at HIS sheet and asked about my truck (sold 10+ years ago–tag turned in). I told him it was sold. He looked nextdoor at my neighbors truck and said that was MY truck. He went and checked the VIN # (they didnt match). I asked why the 2 systems (FDLE & Broward County) varied so much…? He told me that they have ALL the info correct. Then he wanted my roommates tag; I said “not without a warrant”. He left.
I didnt want this to be this long, but it needs to be said. The next time you go to register, bring a pen, and when they go and give you the 5-6-7 pages for you to initial & sign, pull the pages apart and start making corrections. DO NOT LEAVE till you have corrected all their mistakes. Where you sign, put above your signature “UNDER DURESS” and below your name (you will have to check to see if you qualify)
You put “EX POST FACTO CHALLENGE”.
Now you (& they) will have a copy of your true and updated form, signed by a cop and your fingerprint on it.
WTFTV Channel 9 reported on the New Look Registry I think they were the only local station that did but par for the course after the facts of the new features were reported the local RSO hating achor (War mouth) commented I checked my neighborhood I’m surprised while shaking his head in disgust. I guess counting on people who claim to be fair and balanced to actually be that way is a waste of time especially in WTFTV’s case
I don’t live in Florida but as far as vehicles go I have a truck that’s parked in my driveway that is registered in my sons name . I gave them the license plate # but have refused to give them the registration and insurance information. I told them it’s not my truck and I have no right to take that information from the owner and give it to them.So far they have not challenged me on that except in an argument.
Here in flor-a-duh we are only required to give Make Model Color and Tag # they don’t dare ask for a non registrants vehicle registration information because then regular people would file suite and complain then the truth about how unconstitutional the whole practice is besides they can get vehicle registration info from the DMV and as long as the general public thinks only sex offenders suffer they can violate anyones constitutional rights even non registrants
Since when has being unconstitutional hindered governments from trying anything to see if they can get away with it. They think they are above the law anyway. And most of the time they get away with it.
1989 ex post facto….pre-act Offender. Years ago they asked me to provide this information! I refused. Those Cars DO NOT BELONG TO ME!!! I’m NOT LISTED WITH INSURANCE TO OPERATE THEM!!! Waiver Was signed.
My family talked about it!!! We sad No. Our plan was, let them violate me, I would challenge it with a Jury Trail. Been along time…I didn’t NOR WILL I EVER GIVE THAT INFORMATION TO THEM!!! MY FAMILY MEMBERS HAVE NEVER EVEN BEEN ARRESTED. They to the Registration office to get Lost!!!
Ohh, Wanted to ad something new that Marion County Sheriff is asking now !! Instead of asking me if my Vehicle info was all correct, The lady asked me,, Wait For It !!!!!,,,,, How many Vehicles I had in my DRIVEWAY !!!!!!!!. Yes, That’s what she asked me !!!. And my response was, Every Vehicle I OWN AND DRIVE is Listed with you !!! So any Vehicles that happen to be “IN” my driveway doesn’t matter !!. And she tried telling me that “ANY” Vehicle that was at my house needed to be added to my “List” !!. And I told her, My Friends, Family or Visitors ARE NOT on Probation or on this Registery, So she DIDN’T NEED their Vehicle Info !!!. And to really tick her off, I told her she needed to add a Sheriff’s patrol car to my “List” because it comes to my house several times a year !!! She didn’t think that was funny !!!. LOL. They are sure REACHING now !!!. Next thing will be, Who I have as Visitors must be added to my ‘List’ !!! Guess I better get the names of the Mail man, FedEx and UPS Drivers !! Their at my house almost weekly !! Lol.
I guess we should list the mail man, FedEx, UPS, the guy that reads the power meter, and the home nurse that changes my bandages and dressings after my last surgery. After all, they visit more than 5x a year. Should my children’s bicycles and lawnmower also be registered? They already list all the business vehicles registered to me, even though they’ve never been parked in my driveway and I’ve never driven them merely because my name is listed on the title.
reside – if they stay 5 or more days (now 3) in aggregate. That presumably would be sleeping over.
You can do a lawsuit like California did.
