Florida registry gets a new look
The FDLE sex offender database has gotten a new look. The homepage of its sex offender search has a nautical feel, with a lighthouse logo and a ship-wheel icon. Aside from the design change, the ability to search by status (absconded, deceased, deported, etc.) appears to be gone from the new search query, though the results still appear.
Another notable change is that vehicle and vessel information is no longer on a separate page, but appears below the registrant listing. The vehicle information, which is supplied by the DMV and is notoriously inaccurate, is now on the main screen, meaning family vehicles registered to the offender are now more prominently displayed. Bad news for spouses or children of registrants.
At the top of the page is the following, “The information you are about to view has been reported directly to FDLE by the Florida Department of Corrections, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, and law enforcement officials. FDLE compiles and provides this information for public access and does not independently confirm the accuracy of the information. It is FDLE’s desire that the information contained herein be accurate and reliable. Any person who believes information provided is not accurate should contact the FDLE Missing Persons and Offender Registration by phone at1-888-357-7332
or by e-mail at

If your information is not correct, let them know.

So are the “other vehicles” now proudly displayed on the website for all to see? I was told for a number of years that these vehicles not registered in the name of the RSO are only visible tho LEO and not to the general public. That included ones registered to corporations, other persons, leasing companies, etc.
Also,I wonder how long it will take somebody like Grady Judd to violate people who that “failed to remove” old vehicles that they no longer own even though it is FDLE that has done this?
Correct.
Even if you appear IN PERSON to remove it within 48 hours, in many cases it still appears.
Yeah…..my information says I own 4 cars, 1 of which I bought in after high school in 2000, haven’t had it for at least 15 years, and one that I sold 2 years ago. My roommate doesn’t have ANY cars listed, and he does own 1. Where are they “compiling” all this incorrect information from??
Also, the email…sexpred….. REALLY? That’s the best they could do?
I was told the same thing. The other vehicles wouldn’t show and that it wasn’t for either LEO or the public to see, but for a separate state system. This was told to me a while back when it first started by a sergeant with the county sex offender unit. I checked my registry profile and only my vehicle shows and not my family members and spouse. Thank goodness. I don’t want them in this mess and them being harassed. It’s just not right.
What statute allows the Registry to still include those that have moved from the State, those that were deported and those that are deceased?
(Which causes Floridas true numbers of RSO to be in correct)
Arent Federal monies granted to States based on each State’s number of RSOs? If.so, major.problems.
Smell.law suit
I’d love to see the answer to this as I’d want to compare it to WI and NY!! I hope someone answers this.
I looked at my flyer. They “squished my head” (LOL) they still have my trailer listed, which I sold for scrap in 2001. (But they dont have my old truck listed, which got sold 10 years after the trailer did) They still havent corrected my “adjudication date” yet.
Oh yes, the website, it is all nice looking and such. Wonder how much it cost them to do that? I would think that they would invest more time to make sure the site was accurate; instead of putting in a disclaimer stating that their information may be skewed (and they refuse to correct it)
I’d like to know when we, as a collective, can get our voting rights back. I have a friend who drove drunk one night and killed a mother & her 2 kids. He got a year jail, 6 months probation (NO monitor) and go to AA.
Within 12 months of getting off probation for killing 3 people he got his voting rights back. ! . ?
All tho he is my friend, I have to say this….
A drunk murderer has more rights than a person who was accused and had no evidence against him and was drug thru the system. SAD

Question regarding an important note that “mytym” pointed out on the tag identification information being made public
As we are all aware it is extremely punitive that SORR’s family members be subjected to ANY legislation that pertains to the SORR itself. That being said what measure can a citizen who is not a SOR (such as a spouse or roommate) take so that their information is not made Public? Is there any recourse here such as a civil lawsuit that can be made individually? If so, could you point me in the right direction to start?
I am planning on proposing and having a life with my significant other in the next few months but am extremely uncomfortable with having them be subjected in any way shape or form to any punishment that pertains to me.
There is the possibility of a civil lawsuit, but it would need to be funded. We have considered bringing one. This would be a good case, since the plaintiffs would be non-registrants whose vehicles are registered.
@FAC
So the timeline would be
Registrant goes in for registration and complies with all data requested including non-registrant identifiable information
Civilian files lawsuit
Courts deliberate
?
in between there would be motions, discovery, depositions, etc., but yes – those are the steps.
Timeline depends on the court and the parties.
Also, in FL and many other states public information like car tags etc. are allowed to be hidden in FDLE even to LE for certain public servants because of danger to them! So judges and the like are protected but they throw people that have completed there sentence and their families to the wolves! when they started this info gathering did they not assure us that it would not be on the flyer? Now the vigilantes can print it out and not only have the address but also the tag! Scary crap!
However they were nice enough to inform the public any misuse of information from the FDLE website is guilty of a misdemeanor that makes me feel so much better about the safety and privacy of my spouse and children especially since any assbag can see the tag number of almost every vehicle I’ve ever owned. A freaking misdemeanor are you kidding me
Can you feel the sarcasm
I love how they encourage our fellow citizens to be snitches at the end there lol. Oh my goodness, this country had gone to hell so badly. And yet, very few, if anybody realizes the truth of things and is willing to stand up for what is right and honest
