IMPORTANT: Were you given additional paperwork?

If you were given any paperwork or notices concerning the registry or your responsibility with respect to registration aside from what is given to you during your regular registration or re-registrations, please send a copy of it to [email protected].

We have been advised that individuals in St. Lucie County were given notices concerning their responsibility to register Internet Identifiers which contained requirements additional to those required by law.

If you receive something or are asked to sign something, we encourage you to inform us so that it can be addressed.

My husband was given additional paperwork. We live in St Lucie County and the sheriffs office came to the door to verify his information. They spent about 15minutes talking to him and going over every item on the registry. He is currently being prosecuted for failing to report internet identifiers (his facebook account). I was fearful he was being arrested again. He forwarded the paperwork to our attorney. This whole ordeal has been a nightmare. My husband does not have to register anymore in the state of offense. He fulfilled his sentence. We cannot leave the state of Florida because of the charges. It feels like he is being prosecuted again for his past. Truly, enough is enough. He has always abided to the registry rules to the best of his ability. He was not hiding his facebook account. He believed facebook was tied into his email account. I know there are others out there who are going through the same thing. The laws need to change. The frenzy out there surrounding sex offenders and registry laws are truly out of control. I am thankful for FAC and the advocacy that is provided.
