Some law makers are outraged about the Real ID law will be enforced soon (after some 20 years of non-enforcement). They say its “mass surveillance” but they also seemingly believe its okay to label us as presumptively dangerous on public registries and mark our passports and driver’s licenses to either prevent us from traveling or make it very difficult. Maybe FAC can purchase some jet fuel on this spark?

Sins of the son affect the father. Someone please reach out to this councilman.

This reporter is begging to get her name out there.
    Or
This reporter was forced into the story and headline.
Either way it’s poor journalism. Poor taste in attaching the family.

    LAKE COUNTY, Fla. —
The son of a Tavares city councilman was arrested after authorities executed a search warrant and discovered content depicting child pornography in his possession, according to an affidavit.

The suspect, 21-year-old Cole Singer, was accused of sharing videos and photos of minors across social media platforms.

Cole Singer is the son of Troy Singer, a Tavares city councilman who has served since 2016.

The Tavares Police Department reported receiving a cyber tip regarding a sexual video involving a minor, estimated to be about 8 years old, which was linked back to Cole Singer’s address.

Investigators went through his Snapchat and Google accounts and said they found multiple shared images and videos of “prepubescent boys.”

In those videos, the arrest affidavit said Cole Singer and another unidentified user would send each other inappropriate videos, including some they would record of young boys in public areas.

Some videos were recorded in bathrooms and waiting rooms. The affidavit said the victims who were recorded appeared to be unaware.

Detectives said Cole Singer knowingly possessed child pornography and would share them through Snapchat and X, formerly known as Twitter.

Therefore, he has been charged with the following:

Possession of child sexual abuse images — 14 counts
Transmission of child sexual abuse images — 10 counts
Unlawful use of a two-way communication device
The arrest affidavit said the crimes were committed between December 2024 and February 2025.

According to the booking information, Cole Singer was jailed Monday but has since been released on bond.

The city said it is aware of the recent arrest and shared the following statement:

“Where this matter is a personal matter and does not involve the councilmember in their official capacity, it does not pertain to city business or operations.”

Are there concerns with what the current administration has in store for home-grown, violent offender, and/or criminals? Do you think he would do this? I believe all should take care of themselves in regards to this and have plans if possible.

Bad decision out of middle Georgia https://law.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/alabama/almdce/2:2019cv00695/70856/61/

A person committed a sex offense as a minor and tries to get off the registry.

Relies a lot on the continuing McGuire case. I believe McGuire won the last round and the state was appealing to the 11th circuit. That was last year and haven’t heard anything since then. Here however they still seem to go by McGuire v Alabama II.
