So this might be a catch 22. So they want to throw the book at this man for voting (gaps) However this would be great if he fought this. How can only certain members have the right to vote. https://westorlandonews.com/florida-ag-charges-registered-child-sexual-predator-with-voter-fraud/ Meanwhile the people from the villages voted twice and got https://www.clickorlando.com/news/local/2023/01/30/4th-resident-of-the-villages-admits-to-voting-twice-in-the-2020-election/
Had to do 50 hours of community service and take a class but I digress anyway,
However According to the case Crose v. Florida 2024.
https://case-law.vlex.com/vid/state-v-crose-1040338412
“ Has been released on or after October 1, 1997, from the sanction imposed for any conviction of an offense described in sub-sub-subparagraph (I).For purposes of sub-sub-subparagraph (I), a sanction imposed in this state or in any other jurisdiction includes, but is not limited to, a fine, probation, community control, parole, conditional release, control release, or incarceration in a state prison, federal prison, private correctional facility, or local detention facility ….”
If he can’t vote because that is a sanction disenfranchisement imposed upon him then how can he be required to register since according to their own laws all sanctions must be completed and he is only denied the right to vote because he is a registrant, but if one of the sanctions imposed upon him is the loss of the right to vote, then all sanctions thus are not completed so he should not have to register.
It would be interesting to see if he takes this to trial. Do we or don’t we have the same rights as other Floridians.
Man convicted in another state has to register for a crime in the early 90’s. Moved to Georgia where said crime was not a registered offense at the time. Legislature expanded the capture list any now that crime is a registered offense. Man sues Georgia arguing he shouldn’t have to register. Court says legislators changed the laws eventually to have an off-ramp, but not for his offense. Court legal gymnastics as to why he can’t get off https://www.courtlistener.com/opinion/10586500/carl-gardei-v-keybo-taylor-in-his-individual-capacity/?q=Sex+offender&type=o&order_by=dateFiled+desc&stat_Published=on
Apparently this is the 3rd suit. So I guess this is a pretty big Georgia case.
Thank you for the compliment. Usually just googling certain key phrases and a few legal court cases search engines.
I logged into YouTube, using my Google/Gmail name, some time ago because I needed to post a question for some home maintenance advice. I registered with FDLE that Gmail identifier as being associated with the YouTubedotcom URL. Today, I logged into YouTube and posted a comment for the first time in over a year and noticed that I was being identified with my old identifier (e.g., XXXXXX), but with a series of numbers attached to the end of it (e.g., @XXXXXXnnnn). So, good thing I noticed, huh? Internet sites like YouTube aren’t too savvy, or even too concerned, about the BS rules that PFR’s have to live by. I immediately deleted the message vs. going to FDLE to add a new identifier. I don’t know yet whether additional messages would generate new ID’s or if the ID will change again in the future. My first amendment right is being hampered, but what else is new. Has this happened to you?
“Herald reported, was that 42 percent of all Miami Beach arrests in 2024 were homeless people.” Great use of our tax payer dollars

I wonder how many were registrants with simply no place to go.
Florida I know it when I see it law struck down https://reason.com/volokh/2025/05/13/florida-ban-on-depicting-or-simulating-lewd-conduct-in-performances-where-children-are-present-struck-down/?comments=true
Thank you Eugene! How do stay on top of all these cases/laws? I always find your posts very informative.
