Osceola County conducts “Operation ‘Parking Lot Party'”

Several law enforcement agencies teamed up to arrest 67 noncompliant sexual predators and sexual offenders during a seven-month operation called “Parking Lot Party,” a news release said.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, United States Marshals Service, Florida Department of Law Enforcement and State Probation and Parole conducted a joint operation to verify the compliance of the 550 registered sexual offenders and predators in Osceola County.

Law enforcement officers conducted proactive investigations to determine if the offenders had correctly reported their residency status, employment, email and social media accounts, campus activity, professional licenses, vehicles and vessels owned and had reported travel information within a 72-hour period.

The scary part with this is how many of us have an old email address that we haven’t used in YEARS and maybe don’t even have a connection to it???
How do they interpret requirements for registering a vehicle?
It’s almost like going down the proverbial rabbit hole.

“Investigation of 550 former sex offenders finds that all have remained free of new sex offenses,” it should say.

Congratulations to Osceola’s 550 former sex offenders, among whom the sexual recidivism rate is 0%, similar to national statistics.

How do I know that these former offenders did not sexually re-offend? Because if any one of them had, law enforcement and Channel 9 would be letting you know about it, big time.

“Sex offender compliance enforcement” is a means for the sheriff to demonstrate that they are cracking down on an unpopular class of people. It is not about public safety (as researcher Emily Horowitz I think demonstrated a decade ago).

I do everything in can to live by these rules. But honestly with them changing all the time who knows if you are ever totally compliant. This stresses me out so bad. I already have mental issues from the military, this pushes me farther than I feel comfortable with. Sometimes I just sit here and cry.

Don’t give up Michael, if you do, they win. I agree it is stressful but just do the right thing and rest we have no control over. I pray every night when I go to bed that God will keep us all safe, especially those who are playing by the rules.

“The operation resulted in three cases which violated the Adam Walsh Act, a requirement to register after crossing state lines”
since when do you have register just because you crossed a state line?? if it is less that the 3 days for florida , and less then what the other state is???

Do you know if this was an isolated incident to that county or do the rest of us in the remaining 66 Florida counties have to worry our doors are getting kicked off the hinges ? I have nothing to hide but from past experience, it seems they are out for blood for some reason.

They just did “operation neptune” in Volusia, so it’s not isolated. They do these regularly.

I am reading about them all over the country–not a large number, though.

Interesting, today I read about all of the crime in Daytona Beach. The journalist mainly focused on the large number of serial killers that have been in Daytona Beach. The article in today’s Florida Times Union said”Daytona Beach has a reputation…for being a destination for society’s undesirables.” Further it stated that prostitution is prevalent; it is where outlaw motorcycle gangs assemble; rowdy college students let off steam; and serial killers–time and again–have roamed here, lived here or left bodies here.

The article even quotes Sheriff Chitwood. But nowhere does it mention registrants. Maybe they are wishing that all the manpower and money spent in rounding up the registrants earlier had been spent on the “real” crime that threatens society.

I cannot get a link, but the article was entitled “Why have murderers for decades chosen Daytona Beach?”

100 years ago when I was a teen, I went with some friends to Daytona for spring break. Even back then it was a pretty rough scene. The drinking age was 19 back then but every place we went it seemed someone wanted to fight us. I never went back except years later to just go to the beach with some out of town friends who wanted to say they had been there. They were going to stay in a hotel and every one they could afford looked like it belonged in Calcutta India , no disrespect to India. In closing, Daytona has been run down looking as long as I can remember.

Wrong is not a strong enough word given that only about 8% of the registered citizens were charged with any offenses. If it were not for my struggle to survive, I would file public re words demands to show the real story about the taxpayer dollars wasted in this operation, let alone the prosecutions.

And that 8% was not even real crimes. It was just made-up crimes created by an immoral, illegal criminal regime that deserves absolutely no respect.

Remember – as long as $EX Offender Registries exist – F the criminal regimes that have them and their law enforcement criminals. Never, ever do anything to help them. Work HARD to keep money, time, and all other resources away from them. Vote and control them. Make the criminals focus on actual, real crimes.

I read the sheriffs press release, the news reported it wildly incorrect.

This was funded by the United States Marshall
The 3 state lines were failure to register
Travel violation for failure to report travel over 72 hours (correct me if I am wrong here, but that’s still not what the statute says)
No other information on the other violations, so take what you will out of that

So sad Unsolved and Cold case murders could be solved if Law Enforcement put in much effort as they do harassing Post convicted people.

The “reporter” basically regurgitated a police report. No thought or shred of skepticism was put into it and it can hardly be called reporting.

Central Florida is at it again with their ridiculous operations and the silly names attached to it. It won’t be long until Polk county and that sanctimonious prick who calls himself a sheriff there, has his own operation soon. It is that season again, unfortunately.
