Osceola County conducts “Operation ‘Parking Lot Party'”
Several law enforcement agencies teamed up to arrest 67 noncompliant sexual predators and sexual offenders during a seven-month operation called “Parking Lot Party,” a news release said.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, United States Marshals Service, Florida Department of Law Enforcement and State Probation and Parole conducted a joint operation to verify the compliance of the 550 registered sexual offenders and predators in Osceola County.
Law enforcement officers conducted proactive investigations to determine if the offenders had correctly reported their residency status, employment, email and social media accounts, campus activity, professional licenses, vehicles and vessels owned and had reported travel information within a 72-hour period.

I’m confused here. Why are there so many SO’s running free when my son a supposed one-time offender is doing 30 in prison?
30 a plea deal of being threatened with life.
There are different crimes that constitute a “sex offense”, all have different penalties.
There are also huge differences between federal and state cases. Prison time in one sovereignty could be probation in the other.
An example that I heard from one man who was in my counseling class years ago ( Ordered by Probation ) . The man was homeless, was peeing in the woods ( that is where he lived ) and some kids were exploring the woods and saw the man going tee tee and saw his taw taw and reported it to their parents. He is now on the offender list for exposing his privates to a minor. Of course being homeless I am sure he got an overworked public defender who just pushed his case through the system. Of course this is just the story he told me but his counselor told the class ( with his permission ) that the man had passed a polygraph test ( Which we were all required to take per probation ). I also passed mine but it only matters if you fail it. Passing was the only way to complete the classes and be able to have them stopped.
May I ask what this man was working on in court-ordered counseling? For example, what sort of Deviant Cycle did he have? What were his High Risk Situations and SUD’s? I’m at a loss to understand how those things would truly apply to someone with that sort of offense. Was he working on finding better places to pee? Was he working on better camouflaging his activities from children?
Also Phyllis, many of us did our 20 or so years for our crimes but the registry pretty much gives a life sentence. These were added after many of us had already served our time. What if you husband got released and then was told years later, oh wait, you have to report to the police station 4 times a year to register every bit of information from your life and anyone who lives with you? And if you husband was not home, the officer gives you the 20 questions asking where he is, when will he be back, why isn’t he home? All of these while NOT being on probation. I had to move my family somewhere else just so they could have a normal life.
Dear Phyllis,I am convicted of a sex crime weather I am free or not I paid the price I was sent to prison, Loss my family, job, and money. I was 19 yrs old facing life in prison or 20 yrs. I didn’t know law had a sh^t attorney who mislead me into plea bargain. Even if I am free or not I am still doing life and it is not behide the fence either. I am sorry for your hardships! What I know now I wish I knew back then. All I can say is pray to GOD. It took me 13 years (out of 20) in prison of violence, hardships, pain, suffering and the attempted suicide to fall to my knees and cry out for relief. I did not get the answers and hopes I wanted but was given others answers: long suffering, forgiveness and the promise “On the last day the books be open and every hidden thing will be revealed” Not really my place to judge another’s Sin. I know these people will stand before the True Judge on that day. I am not running around free I am stilling answering for my crime after 30 yrs. In 1989 I was convicted and in 2019 I still being punished
Well said. I always tell people we have to walk in each other’s shoes to see both sides of any issue. I have both been a victim of crime and been accused of a crime. Additionally I have arrested people who committed crimes and later been the one getting arrested.
Sometimes it is hard but we are supposed to love and forgive everyone if we ourselves expect forgiveness.
Phyllis,
Trust me, no SO or former SO is running free in Florida even many years after court/sentence, in fact, some homeless commit more crimes just to go to jail/prison as they can’t find employment, the family, community, and world have shunned them. have no shelter from the weather, most of the time are hungry. are unable to reside in a nursing home in their last years/days of life. are scared to cross the street, sneeze, use a phone, leave their home or campsite, etc… as the will be arrested! etc… i would not call that free!
As being prier service (R.A.) I can not understand how these son of a bitches can take their oath of service ,is it that they don’t listen when they took it or just don’t give a dam?To protect and defend the constitution of the United States and the constitution of the state of Florida ,period not to protect people but the constitution’s is what they swore to do.
I believe that MLK once wrote from an Alabama jail that “wait and be patient” means that things will never change.
NO MORE WAITING!!!!!!
We all must find ways to defy. We must be outraged and SHOW IT!!! (by ANY means…)
We must express anger, not quietness!!!!
The time of niceness (and hoping that things will change) has passed!!!
I will send the reporter a link to this page so they can get some perspective of reality. Instead of the constant stream of lies from big government.
What makes you think the reporter isn’t onboard with that very same big lies government?
Part of the government grants are set aside specifically for the media.
The reporter is on board with generating a story that attracts the most eyeballs with the least effort. Law enforcement knows this and can easily get their side of the story out for free. They do not pay the media to carry these stories because they don’t have to.
Nothing. By the tone of the article I expect that the reporter is a clueless idiot that fully believes big government propaganda and outright lies.
Registries do make “common sense”. They are sensible to me. But that is just a surface and trite evaluation. It doesn’t take much more looking to actually understand that they are not just worthless, but a hell of a lot worse. But most people don’t care. They are too lazy to be educated. People in general just don’t care that other people are being harmed. Amerika is a callous, hateful country. Always has been. A little bit better than most of the rest of the world, but barely. And certainly piles of countries that are better.
The Registries are not protecting people and they are without doubt harming innocent people. War must be waged. It sucks, but so do people who support Registries. They have to pay.
Should’ve called it “Operation Spanking It While Burning Taxpayer Money”.
My heart goes out to all family and friends of RSO s in Florida.
