Romania to have a national sex offender registry

Romania is to have a national sex offender registry that will allow the rapid identification of persons who have committed sexual offenses. President Klaus Iohannis signed on Thursday, June 20, the law on the organization of this Automated National Registry, which targets sexual offenders.

Under this law, those who are registered in the National Registry are required to give the Police information about their current address, occupation or income at least once every three months, according to local Hotnews.ro. Moreover, they also have to tell the Police if they live or come into frequent contact with minors, elderly, people with disabilities or vulnerable persons, or if they go to schools or children’s hospitals. In addition, if they change residence or go on a trip, they must notify the Police within 3 or 15 days, respectively.

In turn, the Police must check the residence of the people included in this registry at least once every three months.

Wow, my family and I was about to move to Romania. I was planning on moving a business there and my wife was going to teach English. Probably not anymore we can’t support that. Who is going to be required to register there in Romania what offenses? Can someone please let me know this.

It’s not a public registry just a police database it appears to me. That is a lot different than what we have here.

Another waste of time and money…politicians and bureaucrats climbing on the ‘gravy train’. I wonder if Romania is still putting Christians in prison?

There had to be pressure from the american government or a payoff from them to do this people in eastern europe could care less about any kind of registry. Not that it is shocking to get more bad news as a registered offender but if they can get to Romania then it is just a matter of time before there is one everywhere and we are banned from traveling anywhere

That is correct. The FBI goes to foreign countries “teaching” police how to “catch” pedophiles. Romania was easily persuaded, like Poland, because they are both pro-USA since the USA is now protects them from Russia.
Sex offender registries are the first step in genocide. Once a registry is established it then becomes public, as in the UK, then any adult who has been snared by the law becomes target to street thugs. For example — 3 thugs in their early 20’s, at the prime of physical condition, will target a lone, middle-aged or elderly man to make themselves heroes.
But, in fact, there has already been a de facto world-wide registry for several years in the apps on Google and Apple, available on smartphone, with photos of so-called sex offenders from countries like the USA that make them public. The government registries are now obsolete.
So-called sex offenders, most of whom are innnocent of harm, are to blame for their situtuation by refusing to organize and fight back. At the very least they can boycott all products from countries with SO registries.
