Scams persist

A member from Jacksonville contacted us today to let us know that he was targeted in a sex offender scam. This time the person was pretending to be calling from the US Marshals Office.

He writes, “today I was contacted by someone who stated he was with the US Marshals Office. He stated I did not pay my registration fee. I contacted my Det who stated it was a scam. This occurred in Jacksonville Fla.. So always verify any contact through you Det!!!! Another reason registry should by better controlled.

Doesnt make sense, how do they then know the persons name and that they are on the registry. When these people call, they know EVERYTHING about you. I am not buying the random thing, sorry.
Remember I use to be a detective. This is either an inside job or hacking.
When a random phone # is generated those people have no idea the person is on the registry. Almost every story I have seen on here the caller knew the registrants name, address, and where they register.

Damn good point dude. I’ve had my identity stolen recently they opened a credit card in my name then switched the address outta state. The sheriff is the only one I give my SS number to 4 times a year in 5 years. I’m in central Florida though. Not saying it’s them but someone may be going in the trash.

Elmer Shady Grady Fudd of Polk County’s Wheel of Fugitives has no time for real police work.

Well I was a very good detective. They use to tell us, you had to think like a criminal to beat them at their own game. I was just in a store where a cashier had gotten take with over $200 in fake 20s. I asked If I could see them, without touching (No way I wanted MY prints on them).
She agreed and I told her, those were the best I had ever seen. I asked her how she knew they were fake and she pointed out they all had the same serial number. I told her she should go work at the police department as I didn’t even notice it until she pointed it out.

You are listed on the voter public records to prevent registrants to vote.
http://flvoters.com. There are more public records that can be used against us. Third party groups using police and FDLE records as a data base to used to keep us from shopping in Florida.

I have not been scammed because I don’t answer my phone unless the caller is in my contact list. If they don’t leave a message, to hell with them.

So that is why you haven’t taken my calls. Shame because you actually won a sweepstakes for 1 Million dollars based out of Nigeria LOL

I get about 100 emails a day in my Spam folder and not sure how people fall for these things.

I received an email from Chief Justice John Roberts in my spam mail. I laughed and thought only if he did have my email cause I would have some questions for him. Maybe next

Best thing to do is screen your calls I let all calls go to voicemail if I don’t know who that is calling me.If it were important they leave message. Works petty well. Good Job and Advice LPH

actually you can’t go by state since some Counties like polk charge a fee to register and others like Hillsborough don’t charge a fee at least not yet
