The Sex Offender Registry: Vengeful, unconstitutional and due for full repeal
The Bureau of Justice Statistics reports that at least 95 percent of all state prisoners will be released from prison at some point. However, convicted sex-offenders almost exclusively face the vengeful, additional punishment of registration under the Sex Offender Registry and Notification Act (SORNA).
Generally, under SORNA, an individual who is required to register as a sex offender must register at least once a year; report any change of address within as little as three days; produce vehicle information, a recent photograph and a DNA sample; and abide by stringent residency restrictions, which can force individuals out of urban areas, away from family and into unemployment.
SORNA violates our nation’s founding documents by singling out a specific category of offenders for unfair, unconstitutional punishment. While the Department of Justice cites public safety as its rationale for continuing to enforce the overreaching requirements of SORNA, the program has metastasized, defacing some of our most treasured rights: the right to due process, the right to be free from double jeopardy and the right to avoid cruel and unusual punishment.

Sounds like one needs “Action” in this disavantage management demise. only their are a few drawbacks to it or would that be a cop out or op out type of answer or who said vengence is min?. Was it obvious answer,Cherokeejack, maestro, or anyone else on the sex regstry? Simple results need simple answers or is their anything simple about offending others whether sexual or other means? Even Cherokee can tell you the many cover-ups of cops in a lot of this.
Who wouldn't be upset even about these prison type issues, even the rehibliitation of it all is a bit one sided. Or even the we have determined you are not ready for release so we are gonna give you another six months,a year, ten years, lifetime on the registry, or whatever man thinks is necessary with their abuse. Guess that "We" is a big we or is mankind determining the We?
Look at it this way, would the We be some type of anger management or a type of tough on crime to make a political statement from one state to the next when who know’s their left hand from their right. I’m sure even Cheokee could tell you about the ends and outs on that one. Even justice or true justice is a balancing act. One should either repeal or repel many and much of this registry BS as you all say. Does one call themself Christian and than do evil for evil in vain ways or who robs a bank without pre-planning? Isn’t their two sides to every coin or a one jump suit fits all.
We must understand that most politicians know nothing about the Constitution or couldn’t care less about violating it. We have a system where the foxes are guarding the ‘hen house’. January 6th was a result of a revolt against double standards and not in compliance with encouragement by President Trump. I hope it’s not going to take another ‘January 6th’ uprising to get this nation straightened out. We have too many laws today that are based on myth and not on fact. We have too many laws that divide this nation into groups in compliance with Communist goals. Registered citizens must live ‘straight arrow’ lives, know the laws, and have the guts to stand up to officials that no better than tyrants. The unity in FAC and NARSOL is so important in this effort.
Janice Bellucci and company will be having a rally in Washington DC on March 3, 2023. Hopefully the wizards of justices will learn, we have been compliant yet no longer will be silent. Tired of being society’s scapegoat.

I moved from California to Florida. Being stupid and not doing research I didn’t know Florida was the worst state. And I pretty much fucked for the rest of my life now? In California I only plead to a 10 year registration
