Two American Registrants Denied Entry to the Philippines
Two American persons forced to register as sex offenders, one for an offense that took place more than two decades ago and one for an offense that took place 36 years ago, were denied entry into the Philippines earlier this month.
It’s an unfortunate reminder of how persons forced to register continue to deal with lifelong consequences from decades-old convictions and how the US’s policy of branding passports and sending notice to receiving countries contributes to their banishment.
Most people travel for legitimate purposes, such as business or to visit with family. There was nothing to suggest these two individuals were traveling for nefarious purposes or that they had done so in the decades since their offenses.
Before you travel, be sure to check RTAG’s Travel Matrix to avoid being turned away and to also avoid the shame of being named in newspaper articles such as this one when you are 54, for a crime committed when you were 18.

I assume this is as a result of the moniker on the guy’s passports,
Same happened in Thailand. Nothing was found on any website to restrict entry. Canada did say on its website no entry Sicking how the laws are. Your life has ended when you were charged. Murders can continue with their LIFE REALLY. OR all the sex offenders in office and Hollywood
Don’t do crime….
@SK
OHHH if we only had a time machine. Why didn’t you tell us that years ago? Where was your advice then? Too little too late. We only have ourselves to blame so your advice is outdated. For me about 35 years too late.
*Sarcasm emphasized
Am I missing something? I thought everyone knew that we were banned from nearly all Asian countries including the Philippines.
don’t do crime…simple
Get off this website. It’s not for you.
Lol
@Incognito
Oh let them come, if they are bothering us, they are leaving some other group alone. Many groups have come and gone, KKK, Hells Angels, etc etc.
There is always going to be someone spending their time bothering someone else instead of enjoying time with their families.
I use to get mad when F.A.C would let nasty people come on here and treat us bad. But I have done a 360 on that and welcome the Devils to come.
Ephesians 6:12
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
Pathetic people
@sq
Kind of late for that, my crime was 35 years ago. Nothing I can do about it now but be a better man, which by the way I have been doing many things to help others. I cannot make the incident go away but I can make someone’s day in whatever way God leads me to share.
I stopped traveling for two reasons. First off, I could no longer afford it after becoming disabled. Secondly, once they made it nearly impossible to travel, it seemed pointless, and I did not renew my passport. Over my lifetime I got to visit 9 beautiful countries (Sometimes visiting more than one country on the same trip to maximize the experience).
Those who still try it seem have a hit or miss experience but for me, it is obvious that it is not worth the hassle of being turned back around or losing your money from a trip by not even being able to board before leaving your own city. Good luck on getting a refund.
Heck there are some cities close to where I live that I will not shop in or visit because the cops are so aggressive with license plate readers that if they get a hit on their reader that you are an offender, it won’t be a pleasant experience. I can state that as true as being the victim of one of those officers who detained me for over 2 hours while speaking to FDLE. Ironically, it was finally the FDLE that told the officer I had done nothing wrong under the current statues and to let me go.
yes CherokeeJack….The Largest License Plate Analyzer’s technology is owned by Mr Langley and Mr Fuery…They Own a Company called FLOCK SAFETY…….The Largest Vendor for this nonsense or in their case lots of Revenues… Flocksafety.com. FDLE allows them thru administrative Florida Code Rule 20.010
….Yep…
It depends on the actual assault committed if a person should be removed after a period of time. each case should get a review when the ex-offender files for reprieve from the registry.
Here in the USA and Florida
And it is hard to believe but we are treated worst than criminal illegal aliens and murderers.
For example I am about to be homeless and a veteran with medical issues. I only have 25% heart function because of toxic watr at Pease AFB, NH. Still no compensated for that exposure and my birthday present in 2018 was a double bypass surgery.
My brother in law died in 2020 and last week the house was sold at a foreclosure sale and now I will be homeless. If I lose my belongings then I have reason to live. The new law in Florida has homeless sex offenders going to jail for sleeping in public
@Robert
Were you not in the military long enough to get medical benefits?
