USF Reports Residency Restrictions Ineffective

We came across the following presentation on a study from the University of South Florida, showing the effects of residency restrictions in Tampa, Florida.

The conclusions were that residency restrictions have been ineffective. In fact, recidivism and the number of sexual crimes increased following their implementation.

For all who want to watch this, my viewing shows the topic is introduced at 1:09:00 and goes to 2:02:30.

A nearly 18 mos old council meeting (19 Oct 2023) produced an action to create a workshop to follow on to this presentation. Does anyone know what became of the workshop following this topic and their concern of not being a dumping ground for other entities to settle individuals in the TPA/Ybor area?

When you place absurd restrictions on people, what do you think is going to happen? It’s almost as if they want to keep people in the system to keep the system generating more money. Imagine that! 🥴

I can’t tell you how many times I was yelled at to move out of her state! ( Sgt. Booth Lee County Sheriff Office ) I found out why she wanted me gone. But to lie about it. I swear I couldn’t have written a letter of confession any better then what FDLE has done… I’m sure LCSO knows cause they don’t even check on me here anymore. 275 days and counting. Y’all say the pendulum is starting to swing back our way, get ready cause this is gonna cut them in half!

How convenient, the state of Florida is the only state in the entire United States where recidivism increases lol. What a joke
