FAC is seeking volunteers to fill the roles of Media Committee Chair and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Manager.

These roles are essential to our ability to reach our audience.

MEDIA CHAIR

For the Media Committee chair we need someone who can:

 

  • Write eloquently
  • Has unrestricted access to the internet and social media
  • Is not required to register their internet identifiers (ie: NOT a registrant)
  • Has one hour a day (or less) to dedicate to this project
  • Can do basic internet research
  • Works quickly and independently
  • Has common sense

 

The role involves:

 

  • Performing a daily (preferably morning) search of google news for new stories on sex offender issues.
  • Determining whether the story is relevant to our members
  • Summarizing or paraphrasing the news for posting on the website

And…

  • Posting a comment underneath the online story (on the news outlet’s site) representing FAC’s point of view on the issue, which can be:
    1. Correcting a misstatement in the article
    2. Presenting an opposing point of view or thanking the author for their courage in writing the article
    3. Inserting FACTS about registered citizens
  • Receiving and responding to [email protected]

MEDIA VOLUNTEERS

  • Media Volunteers, CAN be registrants.
    1. ghost writers (preparing stuff for Media Chair to post)
    2. article scanning (someone to search for the articles (as described in the section above) and posts on other sites/forums and report them back to the chair.
    3. Researchers – finding facts and research to insert into our stories/responses.
    4. Assist the media committee chair

SEO MANAGER

The SEO Manager is responsible for coordinating and implementing the SEO strategy for www.floridaactioncommittee.org

  • Manage and execute implementation of SEO strategy
  • Keep pace with SEO, search engine, social media and internet marketing industry trends and development
  • Perform keyword research in coordination with FAC objectives
  • Provide SEO analysis and recommendations to our webmaster
  • Develop and implement link building campaigns
  • Implement and administer search engine programs (ie:XML sitemaps, webmaster tools, etc.)
  • Monitor and evaluate search results and search performance across the major search channels in order to improve rankings

The SEO Manager should NOT be a Registered Citizen (so they will not be required to register every internet identifier so that FDLE can simply undermine our efforts), have 2+ years of experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO), experience working with SEO tools and 2-3 hours a week to dedicate to FAC.
