Alabama – Chemical Castration bill passes

A bill requiring certain sex offenders to be chemically castrated before being released from prison has passed the Alabama legislators and is on it’s way to the governor to be signed into Law.

The bill from Rep. Steve Hurst, R-Munford, requires life-long chemical castration of offenders who commit sex crimes against anyone under the age of 13. The offenders will have to pay the cost of the castration.
