As voting rights deadline approaches, Governor Scott schedules meeting.

Talk about waiting until the last minute… Florida Governor Rick Scott has scheduled a meeting tonight of the state’s Board of Executive Clemency to address Judge Walker’s order out of the Northern District of Florida that they revamp their process for restoring felon’s voting rights by the 26th of April. For those who don’t have a calendar handy, today is April 25th!

The meeting is scheduled for tonight, at 9:30PM and the board will be calling in by telephone, but in order to comply with public meeting laws, they are allowing the public to show up at the Cabinet room in the Capitol. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has issued a stay on the previous ruling. Meeting has been cancelled.

I wonder if they can just change it without the legislature or Florida Constitution change

I don’t see Scott complying with the court’s order anytime soon so don’t hold your breath unless you look really good in blue.

Rick Scott in procrastinating for a reason. I hope he pisses off the judge and the judge will hold him in contempt of court if that’s possible, and put that jerk in jail!
