Boy charged with sex offense

DESTIN — A 13-year-old Destin boy was charged with a felony sex offense after being accused of fondling a victim younger than age 16.

An adult reported the abuse, saying she found the two in a room and the victim’s shorts were down around her knees.

The boy said she’d had a “wedgie.” After he left the room, the victim told the adult that he’d touched her groin area.

She said she wasn’t strong enough to pull her pants back up after he’d pulled them down, according to the boy’s Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

The boy told deputies that the girl had asked him to “do it” and went on to describe a sexual act. He said she never said no.
