Boston is grappling with a homeless offender problem.  This, in spite of the fact that the state’s Supreme Court struck down residency restrictions in 2015. According to the Sex Offender Registry Board, Boston Police are trying to address the problem. They currently have a federal grant to help cover overtime costs so officers can check up on homeless sex offenders.

State Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) and Assemblywoman Susan Eggman (D-Stockton) introduced recent legislation “to end blatant discrimination against LGBT young people regarding California’s sex offender registry.” However, under their bill, SB 145, the offenders would not have to automatically register as sex offenders if the offenders are within 10 years of age of the minor. County Attorney Bill Montgomery is  supporting a bill in the Arizona House that would allow more registrants to become eligible to have their names removed from the Arizona’s sex offender registry. However, the bill would also add new requirements for anyone who wants to be removed from the registry. They must be at least 35 years old, and cannot have
