Congratulations Derek!!! Appellate Court Voids Lauren Book’s Injunction

The order was issued by the 4th District Court of Appeals today so it’s being posted prior to our adding commentary in an effort to share this as quickly as possible.

The court voided Senator Lauren Book’s restraining order against Once Fallen’s Derek Logue.

We all knew it was bogus, now the court’s agree!

Logue v. Book

UPDATE: All the credit MUST go to attorney Gary Edinger, of Benjamin, Aaronson, Edinger & Patanzo for writing an incredible appellate brief. Lots of appreciation to Gary, Jamie Benjamin and Danny Aaronson for defending the First Amendment and for their dedication to Derek’s (and all who fight for reform’s) advocacy.

When will the state of Florida be putting into law a tier based registration system?

They have no plan to at this time.

Well done, Derek and your legal team. The judges seemed to be holding their noses as they found for you–but at least they upheld law over personal opinion(s).

How ironic that Drunken Ron’s daughter, a public official no less, dislikes her publicly available information being posted on line, but advocates it for thousands of others. “For thee, but not for me,” seems their mantra.

I sincerely believe that Sin-eater Crook advanced the bill which eventually and retroactively, reduced from five to three days, the time frame to qualify as a so-called “permanent” residence in an attempt to keep Derek out of Florida. Who in their right mind would consider a three or even five day trip, a permanent move? No fu¢king body! Sounds pretty subjective to me. Why didn’t the objective “reasonable person” standard apply to this stupid law?

Interesting theory and one that is arguably plausible. The Books have been using the legislative process for years to benefit themselves and their clients, so this isn’t that outrageous. .

She doesn’t like her home and address being posted….she doesn’t like being talked about on line…while she passes laws to do just that to entire families.

If someone doing that in her opinion gives her the right to law enforcement protection then so shouldn’t registrants get the same protection?

Exactly. They too should get police protection, and their families.

All props go to FAC and to Jamie Benjamin.

That’s one Florida suit down and one to go, and I expect a win on that one as well.

DEREK!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ACTUALLY FOUND JUSTICE!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!! I can’t even believe a FL court would do its job and go against the Books! I am amazed! You were attacked by them and I think the courts are finally starting to recognize you deserve justice.
