A weekend inmate death at Century Correctional Institution is under investigation.
Inmate Wesley C. Moore, 38, was pronounced deceased at the prison shortly after 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
The death is currently under investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, with assistance from the Department’s Office of the Inspector General, according to Patrick Manderfield, press secretary for the Florida Department of Corrections. He declined to release further information due to the active investigation and privacy laws. He did not specify if the death appeared to be natural or suspicious.
Moore was serving a three year, nine month sentence out of Okaloosa County for possession of a controlled substance and failing to comply with sexual offender registration requirements. He was previously convicted of unlawful sexual activity with a minor age 16-17 and robbery.
Moore’s death was the 15th inmate death at Century Correctional Institution since 2013 and the ninth since January 2017.

There definitely needs to be a very in depth investigation to this death and the other eight, in one years time that number is ridiculous, something very wrong going on at that facility . The results need to be made public also

@ Island Chef If you have “proof” or evidence of killing and beating by these officers on tape. My question is why are you waiting so long to show the public the horrible actions of Florida prison guards? It makes me wonder. Why a person or a group would withhold “video recording of beating” Is it for Money? political reasons? You mention three officials there. Come now all bark and no bite Please share the alleged videos. I have been at Union Correctional and Santa Rosa Correction And I have a sex crime on me and lived openly in population I never had trouble with inmates the guards yes but that was my fault for disobeying rules.
I have a friend that’s incarcerated there and he’s saying there’s stabbings and fights there all the time! I wish there was a way to get the numbers of stabbings and assaults that go on in the FLDOC year after year. It would be in the thousands I’m sure.
The stabbings are equal to the killings that the guards (they arent fit to be called an officer, as most of them are inbred rebnecks from the Panhandle who would otherwise be unemployed) perform on inmates..I witnessed 9 murders by guards and 6 men died in my arms needing medical help that the Medical staff refused to treat..
Oh those murders are all on private tape, cause all those cell phones that the guards brought in, we turned them in to body cams..so there is 87 mins of FLADOC guards beating n killing inmates..the tapes are owned by a Trust in Europe and they will be released on a floating IP address, shortly
.bon chance, pammie jo, ricky dicky scott, and the lonesome wolf julie jones..
We got u.
Once again you make this outrageous claim to have some sort of “video evidence.” Now it’s in Europe….please.
Island Chef…… I’m an RSO that served 3 years in FDOC. I too witnessed beatings and mistreatment of inmates by guards. When we, I mean RSO’s that have been incarcerated, make claims like your’s and don’t offer any concrete evidence or corroboration we do ourselves 100X more harm than good. You CANNOT say “Oh, we have proof and we’re gonna show everybody…… soon” all that does is make the hardline skeptics and politicans all that more hardened. They already look at us as worthless, whiny child molesters that don’t deserve even basic humane treatment. People criticize me when I say we have to hold ourselves to a higher standard of conduct but we start out at a deficit and have to go higher to even on level with our critics.
Agree with Working.
We cannot throw out claims unless we back them up.
