Jim DeFede really stepped up to the plate and showed what fair and just journalism should be. Judging from Ron Book’s body language, he evidently wasn’t used to someone confronting him with real facts about a subject that apparently he is rabid about misrepresenting. I sent Jim an email telling him just that.
I, along with many other Texas registrants and their families, applaud Jim — and you as well Gail — for your fighting spirit and presenting genuine and truthful facts on this much, and often, maligned subject. Many of us in Texas visit your site often Gail — keep up the good work! From us here in Texas, with Mary Sue Molnar as our leader, you Florida residents should be proud and supportive of Gail Colletta — she’s a warrior just like our Mary Sue.
Thanks to all of you, keep your chin up and fight on, together we will persevere.
I just saw the interview. I have a question for Mr Book and for the Adam Walsh’s and Megan Kanka’s of the world. Where were you when these things happened to your children? It seems that most abuses happen because the parents aren’t involved in their child’s lives. Are their any parents out there that know what their children are doing right now? Who are their friends? If parents were more involved in their children’s lives maybe just maybe the world would be a better place to live in. Also Mr Book sex offender’s and predators have served their time in prison and on probation if they commit another sex crime they are arrested and sent back to prison for even a longer period of time. The registration is a form of punishment and in some states they have found it violates the double jeopardy rule two punishments for the same crime.
