FAC Weekly Update 2025-12-23-Holidays Remind Us of the Human Cost of Failed Policies
Weekly update for December 23, 2025. This is recording number 345
Dear Members and Advocates,
As the holiday season is upon us, we want to take a moment to wish everyone in the Florida Action Committee community a peaceful and meaningful holiday. For many, this is a time of family gatherings, shared meals, and traditions that remind us of connection and belonging.
At the same time, this season can be especially difficult for others among us. We ask that, amid the celebrations, we set aside space in our hearts for those who are spending the holidays incarcerated, those who are homeless or transient, and those who are separated from family and loved ones—not by choice, but by stigma, distance, or laws that restrict where they are allowed to live or even visit. For some, current laws mean being unable to sit at their family’s holiday dinner table, to stay overnight with loved ones, or to take part in simple traditions many of us take for granted.
These realities remind us why FAC’s work matters. The holidays underscore the human cost of policies that isolate people long after accountability has been served, and the ripple effects those policies have on spouses, parents, children, and entire families.
Compassion, stability, and connection are not weaknesses in a community or public safety risks – they are strengths, and they are essential to safety, healing, and successful reintegration.
As we move into the new year, we remain committed to advocating for laws and policies that reflect fairness, dignity, and evidence-based public safety. Until then, we wish you and your loved ones comfort, warmth, and moments of peace this holiday season, and we hold close those among us who are facing it alone.
From all of us at Florida Action Committee, we wish you Safe and Happy Holidays.

Have a wonderful new year everyone! FAC is going to take big strides in having these warped, delusional laws out to pasture for good.
Only 28 out of 1,000 sexual assaults actually lead to a felony conviction. That’s not even 3%. Could anyone argue the registry makes any sense now?
Merry Christmas to all. Let us all believe that 2026 will be a year of great wins no loses and Freedom! FAC. Thank you for all you do!!!!!!
Happy Holdidays to all!
May our great nation return to sanity and respect for our US Constitution (which ensures liberty to all citizens as an inalienable right) soon!

Amen!!
And to FAC….thank you for all that you do!!!
