Facial recognition alert nabs registrant from Florida

This is not bad news. This is good news! Technology exists that can replace many unnecessary registration functions.

A fugitive from Florida was caught in New Orleans. Cameras using facial recognition software found the man who had been on the run for more than a year. He was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear at his trial in Hernando County, Florida for traveling to meet a minor.

What this tells us, is that there’s technology that can identify people using facial recognition software. Put cameras out there, see a child being abducted, capture the abductor. Instead of assuming everyone on the registry is going to commit a crime and requiring them to come in and report every step they make, use existing tools to catch perpetrators anywhere in the United States and avoid unnecessary registration steps.

Seriously?? 😒. Do you really believe that law enforcement or legislators would EVER do anything to make Registration less onerous for PFRs?? I know that you’re in florida, but please pull your head out of the sand! 🙄

So, when can we expect human legislatures, the media, and public to catch up with technology and 1) reduce the onerous unnecessary and duplicate registration requirements, and 2) reduce the lesser, non-violent sex and thought crimes that plague our justice system.

And again if abused this can lead up to 1984; Minority Report; 666 the Mark of the Beast; Communism/Stalinism/Sovietism; Fascism/Hitlerism/Nazism.

I am ALL in for cameras EVERYWHERE and I already behave as if they are. I have at least 12 in and around my home. 😉

I love the weather clips that get recorded with my cameras!

I must disagree that the furtherance of Big Brother intrusive technology is “good news”.

Facial recognition is a great tool to also deter crime in general.
