FDLE misleads parents into thinking that the FDLE mobile app will keep their children safe on Halloween
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is encouraging parents to download the FDLE app that tracks people on the sex offense registry so that the parents will know where it is “safe” to take their children trick-or-treating.
We are increasingly becoming a society where truth is no longer important, and people do not want to hear the truth. How much money would FDLE lose if the truth were to ever come out?
- The vast majority of people on the registry are law-abiding citizens.
- The vast majority of people who are a danger to children and will be committing the FUTURE sex crimes against children are NOT on this FDLE app.
I blame the FDLE for misleading such people as the mother who stated: “It is a very helpful app because it lets you know where the danger is.” NO IT DOES NOT!!!! The only thing that will keep children safe on Halloween is for the parents to accompany their children.

FDLE’s dishonesty and misinformation for the purpose of making themselves look better just sickens me. The woman who was interviewed said that she was getting updates already was absolutely full of BS. Did the AP notify her that I moved out of state last month and would be removed from the Florida registry? How about someone who had passed away? I think not. I’m not sure what updates she’s even received. I was forced to live in a roadside motel that was a safe haven for registrants. No one would take their children there for trick or treating.
This Halloween I am praying for everyone on the registry who has to endure the fascist police intimidation. Including myself. I wish us all a safe Halloween.
does anyone know if monroe county, fl has any rules regarding registrants not on probation in relation to Halloween?
This is the hit list App..now it gives automatic data on an address of a RP and considering its Holloween. (its just a Prank) in the eyes of LEOs
“Brown said there are currently 33,000 sex offenders who live in Florida. Of that figure, nearly 4,500 are sexual predators, he said.”
And yet, Florida’s registry is about 70k+.
Um. Let’s see it keeps kids safe on Halloween ,because it let’s parents know where the dangers are. Hmm, since people on the registry are not allowed to decorate , give out candy or participate in any Halloween activities. Tell me again where are the dangers the registry Keeps them from ?
Come on ,Tim. Are you trying to deprive FDLE from feeling good about the ‘fine job’ they are doing trying to justify their salaries? I look forward to Halloween. I plan to spend the evening at a friend’s home drinking beer and watching a soccer…adult…match. The problem with FDLE is that it believes its own lies.
Another addee for Media Blitz Phase 3. As we said in the Navy…this is a target rich environment.
