Feds sued over prison attack that killed sex offender, hurt 2 others

Two federal prison inmates and the estate of a third are suing the government, claiming officials at a Monroe County lockup failed to prevent a 2019 attack on the sex offenders, one of whom was stomped and stabbed to death.

Christian Maire, Michal Figura and Craig Evans were attacked in January 2019 in the East Unit of The Federal Correctional Institution, Milan. Maire was stomped and stabbed repeatedly with a shank before being thrown down a flight of stairs, prosecutors said.

“Knowing of the dangers to sex offenders in the East Unit, and ignoring this Court’s order, agents and employees of the BOP at FDC Milan failed to protect plaintiffs Michal Figura, Craig Evans and decedent Christian Maire due to laziness, hastiness and inattentiveness,” the suit says.

This is a common practice in Floriduh, to put those convicted of sex offences with those who want to kill them.

R.I.P. Mr. Maire, I hope you have peace now. My prayers for your soul and your family.

Unfortunately, the government has an unlimited supply of taxpayer funds to pay for lawsuits.

I hope this turns into a multimillion dollar suit. I’ve continuously posted about registrants being harassed, assaulted and murdered in our prisons and jails. Derek keeps track of murdered registrants, but I believe his list is far from complete.

I am curious about what actually happened. This fci was a low security and had another section like a holding section or something. Not sure what part this happened in but that is brutal and it wasn’t just one victim. I can comprehend one so being targeted but 3.

All anyone who is against us understands is money. If we keep suing over and over again for this and every other reason they hold us down eventually we will start winning.

I guess you need to prune your money tree but better yet how about all of us stand up and push back. Make some noise. If you’re not infuriated then you have grown complacent. It’s not how much money ‘they’ have and how much ‘we’ have it is a matter of these three are human beings and to have that happen as it did is unacceptable. The guards had to have known and they should now be charged and convicted. Guards are lazy, cocky, instigators and pick-and-choose when they are going to do their job.
