Felon no longer deemed threat because of gender change
Iowa officials have decided to release a convicted child molester from incarceration due to the belief that a recent sex change lowered the offender’s testosterone level making the felon less likely to re-offend.
The state is now arguing that Smith’s lower testosterone level as a result of hormone treatment that Smith began in 2017 lowers the likelihood that Smith will offend again.

No need to become a she.. It’s a PROVEN FACT that as men get older testosterone levels drop hence replacement therapy. It’s not the fact that his twig and giggleberrys are gone it’s testosterone levels.
All I can say is this just shows the Idiocracy this country has become. WoW.
I don’t get what the issue is here. He did five years prison, followed by a life term of registration and supervision.
Are we saying that we think he should have done more prison time? Because that is an understandable position, given the nature of his crimes. Or are we agreeing that life registration and supervision is sufficient? Or too much? What’s our position?
Or are we just mad at transgender people for having an identity?
I would agree that, if he has a lowered propensity to re-offend, that has little or nothing to do with his testosterone level. That’s just bad science.
I don’t think people are mad at transgenders for having an identity, but look at this situation and tell me if you think this will score any points for the transgender community. It won’t.
There are lots of people who dislike homosexuals and transgenders. And you can guarantee that religion has a lot to do with their mindset. And it will be those people who start saying “See! We were right! Homosexuals are pedos!”
So this man transition with a sexual offense against very young minors (not even post pubescent teenagers) will not make the LGBT community look good. He’s actually hurting them for this decision.
So that’s what we’ve gotta do? We all have to get sex changes?
Since the liberals believe that you can “identify” as anything you want, why don’t we all storm the senate’s offices across the country and claim that we identity as “reformed convicts who won’t offend again and therefore the registry is punishment”…? Just sayin’! Use their own ideologies back at them.
I agree with you! I have been saying this same thing to those around me for years now. If people can identify as whatever their heart desires, than I identify as a citizen free from registries and lists that single out individuals for prejudice from society at large.
Ok, so this implies that a higher testosterone level may now be a viable defense to any sex crime since it is something that the body produces on it’s own. In a similar vein, all women should not be charged for sex offenses since they dont produce as much testosterone as a man?
