Wanna laugh but the thought of people losing large portions of their lives and some have died because of BS testimony prevents me from doing so. The thought process really angers me it’s like the guy in front of me walked off the cliff so I’m going to also even though we know it’s gonna hurt or kill me but that’s the way we have been doing it
Thank God for DNA testing.
Many experts are now saying that DNA testing is not as accurate as they thought. In fact, I have read articles that have said they may have had it all wrong
DRAIN THE DAMN SWAMP ALREADY!!!! Sessions needs to be removed from power and influence and swapped with a prison in mate who is doing time based on junk science.
I am genuinely p!$sed right now.
Judicial notice and other such stuff are funny things. I remember back when I was a lawyer, another attorney told a story about trying to challenge the new at the time laser speed guns. He demonstrated in court that the very device that the cop said had been “tested and calibrated” the morning of the stop indicated that the front wall of the courtroom was moving at like 7 mph. Judge still accepted the results of the laser. 😉
While I do admit to watching Quincy M.E. years ago, I avoid all these crime shows for the very reason that they convince people, some of whom may sit on a jury someday, that this “science” is perfect. One trial I watched on the old Court TV gave DNA statistics of the odds of 1 in 7 trillion people having those characteristics, even though that many people have never yet existed. It ignores the fact that absolutely identical twins also have identical DNA. They are always ready to put a specific number on their odds, but when asked for a number concerning what they consider to be “a reasonable degree of scientific certainty,” they avoid answering. It always disgusts me when prosecutors fight efforts of a convicted person to have DNA testing done on the evidence in the case. It tells you that prosecutors are more concerned with the conviction than with actual justice.
Love John Oliver since way back from his days on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. lol
This is a great segment and some pretty worrisome stuff. Hopefully a lot of Judges are fans of the show and they all see this segment.
omg! at 18:30 …the same bologna sandwich from the crime scene. LMAO
I needed that FAC. LMAO !!!
Thank you
So many people put in jail by so called forensic experts doing and saying anything to make thier case stick.
Every judge should get a copy.
