Former Christian school teacher, 29, arrested days after being caught in bed with teen boy by husband
A former Oregon Christian school teacher was arrested after being accused of having an affair with a 15-year-old student that lasted for more than a year, authorities said Monday.
Andrea Nicole Baber, 29, was arrested at her home in Cottage Grove on Friday, the Register-Guard reported. The arrest came days after Baber’s husband allegedly walked in on her and the teen in bed, according to the News-Review.
The student’s father reported the relationship to police Dec. 12 after he and his wife received an anonymous email asking if they knew the boy and the Logos Christian Academy teacher were in a sexual relationship, authorities said.
The message was attached with photos of the teacher and the boy, according to the Register-Guard, citing an affidavit filed in Douglas County Circuit Court.
The teen told deputies that he and Baber had been in a relationship since 2017, when the boy was 15, according to the newspaper. Deputies said the teen provided him with alcohol and weed.
Baber was booked Friday at a Douglas County Jail on several charges, including sodomy, rape and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to the New York Post.
The sheriff’s office said Baber no longer works at Logos Christian Academy. Her profile was still featured Monday, but was taken down as of Tuesday.
“Andrea has always felt called to work with youth and is very excited that God opened the door for her to be part of the Logos team,” her biography said, according to the Post. “She lives with her husband, dog and cat just south of Eugene.”

I grew in an atmosphere of “You don’t bilge a shipmate”. Family should work out problems within the family and not bring in the bureaucracy…unless absolutely necessary… who will more than likely really screw up the situation. I am saddened and disappointed every time I hear one of these stories. They only feed those who enjoy ‘sipping’ the anti-RSO ‘coolade’.
Lets be honest:
People are most likely to engage in sexual activity with persons they spend most time with.
Examples:
Teachers = Students
Preachers or Priests = Youth or…
Media Moguls = Aspiring Actors
Night Club Owners = Patrons
Police Officers = Victims, Helpless persons, other police officers
Corrections = Inmates, other correction officers or others of coworkers
President = Interns , Aides etc.
Cruise Workers = Passengers and other fellow employees
Most Sex Offenders – Family Members or close aquaintences….
I can go on forever, this should not be shocking. Its just reality.
For the amount of money I pay and the extra special things that I get to do every year…I should get a special RC license! Oh nevermind, I do… lol
ALL teachers should only be allowed to used authorized phone numbers, email , social media and it needs to be monitored by gov. Problem Solved! Mostly
Your logic is refreshing and quite to the point. It is also true that our primary reason for existence is to reproduce and thus the urge for sex is a very strong persuader even when deemed “inappropriate.”
Indeed you can not change reality no matter how much you would like to wish it away.
I understand that her husband was upset but turning her into the cops was a lousy thing for him to do. Thank God she wasn’t in Florida.

Ever notice how un-newsworthy stories like this one show up in the news all across the country? This story alone is all over the place in my news queues. Think it’s because potential victims need to be made aware of this woman’s repellent crimes? Or, do these salacious stories attract readers for their entertainment value? Lots of comments from male readers suggest that the boy is fortunate to have received such attention from a teacher.
Time to set up that 1,000 foot rule for teachers? Let’s face reality…sex is a part of life and the bureaucrats can pass all the laws they want and they will just be wasting their time. Accepting the Word of God on such relationships is the only solution and as long as the world fights that Word we will eventually get to the point that there will be no one to monitor the registry as everyone will be on it.
Polygraphs and Bi-Annual Mandatory check-ins to fdle will solve this.
Seriously, it about protecting our children. They should all reside on a database so we know who is around our kids and have a buffer zone of 1500 ft of living near places that child congregate.
Its a serious job educating America’s youth. They should have no problem being up to the task.
Unfortunately, buffer zones provide no security and in fact tend to punish those who have no intent of harming children…even though they may have in the past. Our nation’s attitude toward sex in general will have to change before our children have any possibility of safety. The Word of God gives us the instruction that we need but as long as we as a nation figure we know more than the Word of God tells us, we could have a buffer zone of 100 miles and our children still would not be safe. As humans we need to learn to respect each other and accept the fact that a failure in action in the past does not equate to a life long trend to fail forever. Our laws tend to focus on the past and refuse to acknowledge the positive aspects of the future all of us could have. In a nation where standards are set by feelings rather than proven principles we will forever experience despicable acts by those in positions of trust.
