Former Florida deputy accused of molesting girl in Lantana

A former Florida sheriff’s deputy is accused of molesting a 12-year-old girl multiple times at his home.

The girl told a DCF investigator she had text messages from XXXXX that showed he admitted to the incident. Police downloaded evidence from the girl’s Android phone. The police report highlighted one text message from XXXXX that read, “How Dare you.” Police said XXXXX texted the girl to arrange a meeting in person so he could explain his side of the story. The girl refused to meet with him.

He’s being held on no bond and must not have any contact with the victim, minor children, witnesses, or anyone under the age of 18.

According to the arrest report, investigators say XXXXX is a former deputy with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, and that he works security for a detention facility as a contract employee for the Department of Homeland Security.

Dig deep enough and you’ll find an “officer of the month” award somewhere.
