Homeowners Associations in AZ Can Now Ban Registrants

As if State Statutes were not enough, when searching for housing registrants have to worry about County ordinances that may further restrict housing. If they survive the County ordinance, they then need to check to see if their city has passed its own ordinance creating more restrictions.

Now, as if all that were not enough, an Arizona law allows Homeowners Associations to create their own rules banning sex offenders and one community has seized the opportunity to create that rule and evict registrants.

According to this article, The Palm Valley Phase I subdivision approved the ban in early December. Sex offenders living in the community would be forced to move within 60 days.
