UPDATED: Hurricane Matthew Preparedness

PER DOC: IF YOU ARE ON PROBATION, ARRANGEMENTS ARE BEING MADE – CONTACT YOUR PROBATION OFFICER. IF YOU ARE NOT ON PROBATION, CONTACT YOUR LOCAL SHERIFFS OFFICE. THERE WILL BE ACCOMMODATIONS MADE. FEDERAL PROBATION HAS NOT RESPONDED. IF YOU ARE IN SEMINOLE OR BREVARD, THE SHERIFFS HAVE OPENED SPECIFIC SHELTERS JUST FOR REGISTERED CITIZENS WHETHER ON PROBATION OR NOT.

We are scrambling to find shelter for the homeless registered citizens who are unwelcome in emergency shelters.

FAC has contacted the governor’s office to see what arrangements are being made. They referred us to the emergency management office in each county. There are too many for us to get through.

Please find your county contact in the link below and post (in the comments) what they advise for registered citizens who are homeless.

I won’t go even if ordered for several reasons been off probation for several years. I have a family I refuse to be separated from.and prison was the most traumatic experience of my life and I refuse to be traumatized again

just read this now, i will call in the morning, but i’m wondering if the county is breaking the law by putting someone in jail when they have not been charged or suspected of a crime

There is no law against that.
They are not compelling people to go there.
