IN: ‘We don’t want you here’: Sheriff says over 1,800 sex offenders live in Marion Co., 52% aren’t from here

There are more than 1,800 sexual or violent offenders living in Marion County, more than half of which were convicted and sentenced from out-of-area, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

As part of the office’s efforts to drive down the number of sex offenders in the community, the sheriff’s office conducted a sweep Wednesday morning near Brookside Park.

Hoosier hospitality doesn’t seem so hospitable does it. The author of this article is dumb dumb dumb. No research no real facts no details . Only hype and false accusations. It’s not worth my time to go further.

Sure glad these registry’s aren’t penal…. If they were like penal you would like uhm go to prison or something if you didn’t follow them.
I always find it interesting that the USA never stopped slavery or segregation.. They just kept rebranding them and changing the victims until they were able to create groups the majority could approve of.. Anyone who has worked for peanuts in the prison slave labor camps and factory’s knows slavery still exists and anyone on the registry knows what jim crow and sun down laws are ..personally…

As I have heard many, many times by my poc at the registration office it is not the place of the officer to translate the law, it IS their place to enforce the law. SO, what gives this Sheriff permission to now become a translator? Why did the media just take the Sheriffs comments as the only side to be represented? Just another lazy reporter. Half a story (or less).
