A member has reported that when advising his local Sheriff’s Office of DOMESTIC travel, he was asked to report his flight information and specific itinerary.
For INTERNATIONAL travel that information is required by statute, but to our knowledge not for domestic travel, nor has it every been requested in the past.
If you have been asked to supply information such as flight or hotel details for domestic travel, please let us know in the comments below.
Lake County Sheriff’s Office is asking for all of that type of information. Recently, while I was in their office, I mentioned potential domestic travel plans, to a state where I am not required to register, the deputy handed to me a pre-printed peice of paper with a block for all of this information. What exactly am I required to give them?
I am curious to see what everyone’s thoughts are…
I am going to Georgia for 3 nights. I will be at a different address each night, in 3 different towns. Is this travel something that gets registered in Florida? I take this trip every year over New Years.
I know Georgia’s laws: I do not have to register in their state for this trip.
NO Florida registration is called for here.
Good morning I just read your post. I’m not an attorney but I like you love to travel and I have been careful to follow the guidelines.FAC has done a great service to us in the information that they give out.
I have found them to be trustworthy.
If you will read my comment that I posted two days ago under the title sale time let’s see if I got it right you’ll get an idea of the leangth they went to to get this information to us.
With what you’re saying you’re totally legal from that standpoint of not being in any one place more than 3 or more days…
Have a great trip and have fun
