When you watch the ‘Untouchable’ documentary notice when the Florida Capitol Police Captain comes down to tell me that when the ‘Lauren’s Walk in My Shoes’ entourage, including pistol totin’ walkers, begins coming up the hill we have to move to the side, David’s film crew catches Ron Book stepping out from behind a tree to watch. Then after the extravaganza was over some of us went to a nearby restaurant to eat and there were four guys in suits who sat at a nearby table and were watching us. We determined they were either reading our lips or had a microphone picking up our conversation…..spooky!
If I were in a forum with Book I would ask one question over and over until he answered…Would these laws have stopped your daughter from being molested? If he answered yes I would then ask a one word question….how? If he answered no to the original question I would ask …why? The only answers to that question is because it is someone the victim knows, because new offenses are committed by those NOT on the registry, etc.
Also, not receiving notices from FAC đ I have checked all my settings etc. and junk email – I cannot figure out why… I am going to use a diffrent email for this post and see if anything comes through…

Ron Book was allowed to shout over Jeanne Baker and spout his overly-rehearsed inaccuracies and the downright lies that he uses to frighten the public and perpetuate his agenda. Ms. Baker attempted to bring out the facts, but was overshadowed by Ron Bookâs hateful tirade. He also made it alarmingly clear his organization doesnât try very hard to provide the assistance it is getting taxpayer money to do. I donât believe this interview helped show the public why forcing people into homelessness and then arresting them for being homeless is inhumane and un-American.
It’s interesting that Ron Book’s campaign is based on the molestation of his daughter by a nanny. Such victims are shielded by having their identities kept secret, but the Books put her name out in public right away. When I was in prison in Michigan, I met a man named James Grissom who asked me to help him appeal his case. His “victim” also went public, and she became a national spokesperson for rape victims. Her name is Sara Ylen. I encourage all readers to Google those 2 names to see what happened with the appeal. It reads like a Lifetime movie script. Sara Ylen began her lies about sexual abuse when she was only 7. It was her way of getting attention. I am not claiming that Lauren Book made everything up to get the attention that she craved, but I am pointing out that it can happen.
So let me get this straight…..
Ron Books daughter, Lauren, was molested by a “nanny” over several years. But Ron Book didnt care; he was advancing his career in politics.
Now Lauren comes forward with the “nanny story”. Here is Ron Books chance to advance in politics! So, instead of helping her to forget this alleged incident and move on with her life (like we are all told to do) Ron decides that he is going to “campaign for Laura” by dragging her out into the center of the public eye and displaying her like some P.T.Barnum side show freak; instead of her trying to get over this alleged incident.
Ron Book has used his families hardships for profit.
(Something akin to John Walsh leaving his child alone, with no supervision in a Sears store–then making a career out his negligence for his child)
Ron Book has ruined many lives thru his hateful rhetoric, false claims and unsubstantiated facts.
Then him and his kid, now a state senator (D) have come up with this “feel good sham” The Homeless Trust.
They claim to help out the Homeless, but their main goal is to find housing for registered sex-offenders. There are over 500 registered sex-offenders in Miami-Dade County alone. Over the last 4-5 meetings with “The Homeless Trust”; they placed a whopping 6 people into homes (for 6 months). Ron Book stated that there would have been more if “some guy” didnt go and make an investment in some property; evidently Ron Ron is trying to find anyone to blame for HIS LAWS he lobbied for and the want, or lack of, desire for people to be helped by a man who literally put them into homelessness in the first place.

For anyone interested, I have been exchanging a few emails with Ronald Book for a few days now. I didn’t think he actually read the emails that are sent to his address, but he does ([email protected]). I cannot say that I encourage anyone to email him, because it is very clear that he is extremely biased to one-side, and I have seen absolutely zero indication that he plans to offer and evidence for his extreme views. Based on his brief emails, he believes anyone convicted of any ‘sex crime’ is a “predator” who should “never have contact with children”. His favorite line to me was “…and you somehow think of predators can be rehabilitated.” Keep in mind I said my email pertains to ALL of the 900,000 registrants, even as young as 10 years of age. Ronald Book believes all 900,000 registrants are predators and they belong on the registry for life as well as should have no contact with children. These are his own words.

For someone that seems to take a strictly one-sided position (based on what you have written in these emails so far), it would be beneficial for your cause if you are able to argue the points in these articles, seeing as you are pushing for certain laws that go against what these articles present. I am sure you will be invited to more TV appearances, and you will be asked to factually refute information, unlike what happened this past week at the news station.
If you can refute the claims in these articles with other peer-reviewed facts, I will GLADLY champion for your laws and efforts as well as donate whenever possible.
However, if you are not able to refute these claims, I promise to aggressively donate to multiple organizations that I am aware of that bring lawsuits to cities/states which try to pass laws that go against science, the type of science that is laid out in black-and-white in articles such as the ones above.
To me, as a rational/logical thinker that tries to take an unbiased open-minded approach, if a person cannot refute such scientific claims (and there are many outside of just these 2 articles), then I have to assume that such person has a strong personal bias/agenda, which tells me that such laws will not stand up to scrutiny, and will be outlawed.

“Sex offenders cannot be cured.” That’s not what the facts and stats say. Book is typical of the “alt-facts” BS corrupt system here in Florida. What he never addresses is that he let his kids be abused for all those years because he was out bribing politicians and getting rich in the process. All Lauren’s done is get into the family business from the political camp and that with her daddy issues and his manipulation.
Someone might point out that all the counties without those ridiculous restrictions are not having problems with registered citizens re-offending, which flies in the face of Book’s lies and corrupt hype.
Something just ain’t right about this guy and I have a feeling that there’s an abuse skeleton in his closet. He’s going to prove to be one of those abusers that has hidden behind power and money. A decent investigator might find things that will disgrace him and put him out of business. I bet his neighbors hate his guts.

I just heard a local interview on a radio station here in Kansas City with police officer William Kennedy. He was dealing with the subject of homelessness and what there doing here to solve the problem. I took some notes of some things that are working well here . I think Florida can learn from what he said.
We here in the Midwest care about everyone. We are all people.
There is no restrictions on sex offenders living in homeless shelters.
I have never heard of an incident because of that policy.

Really? I just read about kansas being one of the stricts states on S. O. ! There are a lot of stories about how rough kansas is on this subject. So is it true or not?
I was convicted in Kansas but havenât lived there for over ten yrs. They have progressively changed laws like everyone else. But then , what constituted a sex offender was very vague. So you could be put on the list for just about anything if that was what the prosecution wanted. But for misdemeanor offenses it was for 10yrs. Now 15. They would mail you a form every three months to sign and send back in to confirm your residency. I never had any problem there. But my problem is now I live in Missouri which only has a permanent registry. So even though I was removed in Kansas Iâm on the registry in Missouri. If I moved back to Kansas I would no longer be on a registry.

Very interestingly my water bill came , and in the envelope was a flyer from Laurenâs kids and it clearly states that stranger danger is not the issue that it is family members friends or people known to the victims .

Ron Book is a bully, so true to form last evening. Jeanne did a great job pointing out his failed logic and focusing the argument on FACTS. Mr. Bookâs only argument ever is based on his emotional out burst spewing falasies.
The legislature and county commissioners need to begin holding him accountable for the constant flow of misinformation he uses as he bullies his way to continue to hold on to his position, which has created failed policies over and over. He and his clients donate money to all of these campaigns giving him this leverage..(follow the money) All heâs pushed has created unbelievable human collateral damage. By his own admittance in the documentary, âUntouchablesâ, none of these laws heâs bullied legislators to pass would have protected his daughter Lauren from the abuse she suffered at the hands of the Nanny he and his wife hired to be in their home. The fact is more than 95% of sexual abuse goes on in the home, or places where children feel safe , by people known to the victim and their families. So theyâre a typical statistic. Letâs create policy that works and not just makes us feel good. Ron Book should use his power for good not evil. The conflicts of interest in the position he holds at the Homeless trust, his lobbyist clients and his daughters position in the legislature is a recipe for disaster. The legislature continuing to allow this man to have influence over tax payer $$ to drive his personal agenda resulting in innumerous human rights violations and collateral damage making us all less safe is just plain absurd. What a bully! There are many upon many reports of the low recidivism rates of RSO’s. Hopefully CBS 4 can be sent the stats that support what Ms Baker is saying. When I blindly ascribed to âconservatismâ I thought the ACLU was the devil. But then I found myself tarred with a brush I didnât even comprehend and the ACLU stood up for me. This woman and that organization are saints and heroes that stand up for people that couldnât otherwise have a voice.
