LA: Registrant beaten after being recognized from sex offender flyer.
A 17-year-old boy who realized he was at the same convenience store as a man whose picture had appeared on a mailed sex-offender notice followed the man away from the shop and beat him up, New Orleans police said this week.
Now, besides facing a count of misdemeanor battery, Tyrin Calloway stands accused of a hate crime, apparently on the theory that he targeted his alleged victim, a stranger, for being a registered sex offender, according to Criminal District Court records.
… While paramedics took the man to a hospital, police handcuffed Calloway and questioned him. They said he waived his right to remain silent and explained that the beaten man was on a sex-offender notice card the teenager had received in the mail.

Handing out (or mailing) flyers to warn residents of registrants living in their communities is akin to yelling “fire” in a movie theater because someone was seen with lighter in their pocket.
Causing undue alarm in the public is a chargeable offense when private citizens incite it, yet our own government pushes these illegal and immoral policies and ordinances even though they should know better.
In my opinion, theirs is the greater offense – a person is beaten and scarred while a minor is made into a criminal – none of which would have happened if it were not for the actions of those who disseminated these notifications under the guise of public safety.
This “minor” as well as many other minors across this country are more dangerous than the adults we teach them to fear. To hell with this “minor”. We’re so worried about protecting “the children” when it’s the children we should all fear. Many minors his age are running in gangs in Chicago, NYC, Los Angeles and other cities around the county.
Screw this minor. Now he can have his start at a possibly ongoing criminal history.
How many more times is this going to be allowed to happen will it take a registrants family member being injured or killed before anything is done oh wait it already has happened ( Registrant and his wife killed by vigilante) and still nothing is done about us being targeted by vigilantes.I’m a peaceful man by nature but I firmly believe in protecting my family and myself I’m starting to see no other way to protect myself than by whatever I’m legally allowed access to and use it full force against any attacker
Just more injustice…. I have had my life ruined by this illegal sex offender crap and I have done nothing to anyone and that is the plain truth. However, I am still harassed by neighbors, police who blatantly make crap up to bother you in any way they can. They charged me with a sex offender because I was swimming naked with my girlfriend on my own property? That is a sex offense in the state of Oklahoma. They charged me with felony indecent exposure whatever the fuck that is?? no victim!
When people do documentaries on sexual offenses they need to include issues like what happened to you.
Iv been able to fight my entire life. I grew up poor and in bad areas. I have been a registrant for over 20 years now. I can think of at least 5 times that I would have been a victim like this if I hadn’t known how to defend myself. This dosent suprise me. I’m surprised it dosent happen more often.
The registries are working exactly as they were intended to work.I have said this from day one and people scoffed. Still scoffing?
People are missing the large point. It is not the teenagers fault. He didn’t do anything except what he felt the government had already condoned. He is doing what the public is being conditioned and groomed to do. The government should be brought up on hate crime charges.The government has deliberately created a registry platform and deliberately created a propaganda and flyer network that serves no other purpose then to desensitize the public into accepting a portion of the public as less than human and deserving of abuse,torture , experimentation and murder.. It is not accidental. It was first done in Nazi Germany. The registries were how they so quickly found the dissidents, Christians,Jews and political opponents when the time came for the cattle cars and gas chambers. BUT the registries started NOT with the jews. They started with the criminal dissidents, the people most quickly to not have public support..When the public was desensitized enough to help the government abuse those on the registries THEN the registry was unfolded for its real purpose and everyone else the government didn’t like was then included.
This is text book how to get a population of people to follow a corrupt government into created a mass atrocity.Beware.America is getting ready to do horrible things that will make China look like school children.And they are getting the world to help them…How did The German government convince 0ver 75% of its population to assist in the murder,torture,experimentation and rapes of over 25% of its population?
