Lauren Book Re-Election Campaign in High Gear
Although she’s running completely unopposed for Florida’s 32nd Senate District (Broward County), Lauren Book is campaigning as if she were an underdog.
In the past couple months, residents of the 32nd District got two extra large, full color brochures from Lauren Book’s campaign.
People in Broward have already gotten used to seeing her plastered on billboards along 595 and I-95 and everyone across the state who has received a registration renewal in the mail has gotten her solicitation for a “Laurens Kids” license plate or donations.
One has to wonder why someone who is running unopposed would have to spend so much money running a branding campaign and whether there is more behind it? Also, why, donations continue to flow into her campaign, even though there’s nobody running against her (http://dos.elections.myflorida.com/candidates/CanDetail.asp?account=69300)

Wish I lived in that district so I could run against her. At least it might lead to a few media interviews to paint the real picture. Does she get to keep any campaign funds not spent?
Just A thought: donations form registrants to Laurens Kids, with a media leak might gain traction.

anyone is free to donate to whomever they want, but a registrant supporting an organization that seeks to punish them forever is a bit of a silly move
You sound like her campaign manager or strategist. If not, then this is the dumbest comment I’ve read all week.
She’s a “poor little abuse victim” who is making a TON of money on her victimhood. After all…she “deserves” it.
She’s not going to miss an opportunity to keep her face and name in the spotlight. Fame and fortune built by oppressing others, regardless of how much pain she causes.
Maybe someone should expose the Books’ misconduct on a YouTube channel or some alternative media. That is, someone who doesn’t have internet restrictions thanks to the Books and their ilk.

I watched the video. I have seen it before in different compilations.
NO ONE holds the Books feet to the fire.
NO ONE askes them a tough question and MAKES THEM ANSWER. The Books spout the same self-serving lines to everything. They just talk over the interviewer.
Isn’t there anyone who can get a straight answer from Teflon Ron or his poor progeny?
The books are being deposed in connection with the DOES v. MIAMI-DADE (federal SORR challenge). There they will be asked questions and compelled to answer.
I thought Jim DeFede did an excellent, absolutely magnificent, job! I work with people on the other side of the argument who concede that he came off looking like an angry, petulant, child.
Jim asked the tough questions, put facts and studies in front of him and Book could not come up with a solid rebuttal.
I find that all the news clips of the Books ONLY present their side of the story. Yes they are self-serving and only in it for the money. But these clips DON’T show that.
Only a COMPLETE story showing all aspects of the Books would register to the common folk out there.

might i make a suggestion that you do a youtube and google search as i think there are several youtube videos already and if you have a hard time finding one or don’t like what you see then i also suggestion that you put one together as we must start doing work such as this ourselves instead of wanting other people to do stuff for you(us) all the time!
I have dedicated a website illustrating the absurdity, injustice, ineffectiveness, of not only sex offender registries but the label/term “sex offender” itself!
I spend time proposing other reasons besides the “standard talking point lies” used by Lauren Book and others who try to justify sex offender registries and I do so with a pinch of well needed sarcasm pointing out flaws and hypocrisy used by politicians and law enforcement alike.
Unfortunately, there are some who do not “get it” and want to keep things “respectable” for some reason which only gives legitimacy to a corrupt system that deserves no respect since it is un-American and should be treated as such.
