UPDATED: Legal Update: New filings in Doe v. Glass

As we previously announced, the trial date in Does v. Glass (SDFL) is July 13, 2026. While that seems a ways off, there’s still plenty happening in the case. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has filed a motion to dismiss the Plaintiff’s Third Amended Complaint. In their response, Plaintiff’s addressed their initial arguments, but FDLE then raised two new (and not previously raised) bases for dismissal in their Reply.

Plaintiffs have requested permission from the court to file a “sur-reply”—essentially, a reply to their new arguments— to explain why these new grounds are frivolous. Copies of the recent filings are linked to below.

Is that because Florida has lots of money and we don’t?

Just keeping their state employees employed with cases instead of having to look for them.
