Lives on the Registry: telling the stories of those listed on a sexual offense registry
My name is Anna, and I’m a volunteer with NARSOL – the National Association for Rational Sexual Offense Laws. I am working on a project called Lives on the Registry. (LOTR).
Lives on the Registry was created to tell the stories of those listed on a sexual offense registry.
We are utilizing the YouTube platform in telling these stories to help re-shape society’s perception of those that suffer under the weight of public registries, which, as we all know, protect no one.
The program is divided into three very specific areas of focus.
The first segment of this project is the actual Lives on the Registry where we tell documentary style stories of those listed on a sexual offense registry. In the future this area will also feature stories of many other areas of the fight against these over-reaching laws and registries.
Next is the Did You Know Series. This is an animated story-telling series that focuses on how different laws affect those required to register and is done with a cartoon style approach to illustrate the harsh realities of life on a sexual offense registry.
Next, we have a new addition to our YouTube Channel called Registry Talk. This segment of the channel was created to tell the stories of those that are currently under some type of supervision like probation or parole and are not allowed to have an in-person interview. We will also use this segment for other types of story-telling in the future.
We are reaching out to you to ask that you take a few moments to review our YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7h6TJmWNt9XYcxuYgybI6Q While you are there, please subscribe and comment on the videos you watch. Your feedback is critical to understanding how to create better, more compelling content. If you or your organization is interested in telling a story, we invite you to complete a short overview of your story and submit it at lives.narsol.org under the tab Tell my Story. Once your story is chosen, we will send you forms to sign and return for every individual or staff member that is to be interviewed.
We ask that you share this project with as many people as you can and remind them that their stories matter too and we want to tell them. If we don’t stand as a community, we will never change the public’s perception of who the registrant really is. If you forward the email, remember to strip out the affiliates’ address.
We all have a voice, and the voice of the registrants and their families must be heard and change must come for those that have paid their debt to society and continue to do so under oppressive sexual offense laws and registries. Help us tell these stories. Join us at lives.narsol.org and let’s make a real change in how the world views those required to register.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to let us know and we will be glad to answer any and all of your concerns.
Thank you for your time,
Anna

Anna, I appreciate all that you and NARSOL are doing. God, or whichever deity you ascribe to, bless you all.
I find it mildly amusing that normies are shocked by their loss of freedoms during the plandemic. They stood and still stand by while registrants’ rights are stripped away and are now outraged.
First they came for the “sex offenders” ……now they are coming for the normies.
I can not see anything being aired as a cartoon. Cartoon and harsh reality doesn’t really seem to go together. There is nothing funny about the Registry. The harsh reality is homelessness, no employment, no contact with your own children, poor health care cause you can’t afford insurance, the piling on of more restrictions when a new pleasantry ( not called a punishment) is added to the registry. (Ex Post facto) I can go on but I’m sure all get the idea. I can not imagine any of this being put into cartoon form. I could be wrong and would appreciate feedback that may change my mind. Ha ha
I like what they are doing. I am all for it and support them and would like to get more involved but honestly my first thought was the public might not take the cartoon seriously and think to themselves this is exactly how a pedophile would represent themselves is through a cartoon. No offense to anyone whose sexuality is actually pedophilia. Just trying to convey a message here.
Is there a place where we can ask questions about issues in regards to compliance with the Registry with out ” self incrimination” to be sure that you are in total compliance?
I ask because it seems like the elements in the registration change all the time.
I appreciate what you’re doing, but I think LOTR is already taken. Also, anyone outside the registrant community is not going to offer sympathy.
In order to leave a comment on youtube, you have to have an account. That account is considered social media which must be reported to the Sheriff’s office. I appreciate what you are doing but I am not signing up for one more thing I have to report.
I will however watch which you don’t need an account to do, that is unless you have made your account private, which is going to reach far less people. It is a start and hope it helps.
Thank you for bringing up that you have to register the YouTube as a social media account. I almost went head first into this and forgot all about having to register YouTube as a social media account. I don’t mind going down to register YouTube on my registry. However, atm time is limited. This is something I’ll have to get involved in at another time. When more time permits me to visit the sheriff’s office during business hours.

You just made a valid point. Every day things we take for granted and forget about being something that can send us to prison.
Here is what will happen. You get sent to prison for a violation and you are in a cell with Bubba. He looks over at you and says “I killed my whole family, what did you do?” You look over all scared and say ” Um, I didn’t let law enforcement know I was going to make and account on youtube”. The guy would die of laughter.
I believe every single one of us has unintentially done something that could get us violated. I truely did not feel this uncomfortable whem I was on probation. Back then the registry had just come out and it was a shell of what it is today.
Lol I had to laugh at this. It’s not funny but the explanation to the other inmate is. Maybe my sense of humor has just gotten far out there, dark and twisted due to PTSD from combat in Iraq and being on the registry for life.

Thank you for your service. I was born on a military base. Dad served almost 30 years.
CherokeeJack,
Thank you for your Dad’s service and thank you for the recognition. Greatly appreciated. I would have done a full 20 yrs or maybe more. My goal of 20 yrs was dramatically cut short due to my offense. On a positive note I still got a honorable discharge after 8 yrs of service. So I get full VA benefits. However, I still can’t get any housing benefits due this registry BS. The government says yes but the state says NO!! Even if I found housing outside of exclusion zones. I get rejected just from my criminal background check let alone the registry or at least that is my assumption. The housing authority can reject you for any reason. It’s hard to fight and prove that they rejected you solely on background checks. If I didn’t receive VA benefits I’d be screwed. I’d definitely be homeless. Mental and physical health treatment definitely wouldn’t be affordable. My situation would be exponentially exacerbate. I can’t imagine how it would be without the VA. All the people who have no other outlets for help due this registry crap weighs heavy on my heart and I deeply sympathize and empathize with them.

This may sound weird, but what do you think of this idea.
Everyone in the U.S on registry sells everything they have. We all pitch in and buy a huge track of land in some state and build our own city. We would be self governed. No one but those on the registry and their direct families would be allowed to live there.
We could have our own city government. Anything we are not allowed to do (like work on our own police department) our family members could fill those positions. If outsiders try and get in, the entrance to the cities guards will tell them “Not in my neighborhood, you sick outsiders”.
Reverse discrimination huh?
Lol sounds like a plan to me.
I think a YouTube account uses a gmail account. So if you’re already reporting that you don’t have to add anything. And if you don’t comment you can just use it to view videos
Yeah My email is registered. I just want to make sure. I’ve been burned once by forgetting to change my address on my DL. I don’t want to give them any room for anything. I rather have and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
I can tell you now there is NO life after the registry,
I’m living that. you will never be free!
