Miami-Dade Encampment STILL above 180 Homeless!

You have to ask; how, in a civilized country, can this continue to exist?

One Hundred Eighty human beings living homeless alongside railroad tracks in a warehouse district in Miami. No shelter, no sanitation, no access to the basic necessities of human existence. They are chained to their location from 10PM to 6AM because of a curfew. If they are thirsty, there’s no running water to drink. If they have to defecate, no toilet available to them.

The lucky ones sleep in cars, but the majority in tents or on the ground. Few actually sleep because of the noise and elements. Now that they are no longer spilling out from under the Julia Tuttle Causeway, the world no longer sees them. They are forgotten.

But the black eye of south Florida is still a bruise, it’s just moved to another place and it’s growing. Despite several international news stories and despite a lawsuit brought by the ACLU on behalf of the inhabitants, those who inflicted the bruise still do not care.

FAC Cares! We will not give up the fight! We will do everything within our power to end this horrible, ineffective and inhumane practice that has no place in a civilized society.
