Miami-Dade Trying to Start Bookville IV – PLEASE DO SOMETHING

Miami-Dade County, under the direction of Ron Book, is trying to do another sex offender shuffle. The same corrupt crew that legislated registered sex offenders into homelessness (thereby creating a colony of registrants under the Julia Tuttle causeway, which then moved them to an intersection in shorecrest, which then moved them to a warehouse district along railroad tracks in Hialeah) is now planning to once again move the encampment of over 270 registered sex offenders to an intersection in a remote area of Homestead.

You see, they figured wrong when they thought the colony wouldn’t bring complaints in a warehouse district, but when business owners complained and health issues emerged, they had to come up with another plan. So, under the direction of the perpetually bitter Ron Book (who caused this mess in the first place), they orchestrated a change to a county ordinance that prevents overnight camping, enabling them to arrest the sex offenders on site.

Under threat of arrest and a looming deadline of May 6th, the registrants are being told to move to their new digs… the corner of Krome Avenue and North Kendall Drive. It’s not a residential area, it’s not industrial. There’s nothing (see below) except a quarry close by. No public transportation within a mile from the spot.

There is still no potable water, sanitation, toilets or other basic services at this location and there are no convenience stores anyplace close. No access to public transportation so these guys can get to work, treatment or go home during the days (yes, many have homes but are forced to sleep outdoors).

Confusingly, this “overnight camping” ordinance is being enforced at the railroad tracks in Hialeah, but apparently the police and Ron Book’s “Homeless Trust” is sending them to a different intersection to “overnight camp”.

The problems this county’s residency restriction has created have been extensively covered over the past decade, since the days of the Julia Tuttle Causeway. Please contact your local media and let them know about what is going on here and please with them to report on it! These are human beings!

Ron Book will not be satisfied until these men and women are extinguished or used to populate his for-profit prison client, GEO Group. The spineless politicians in Miami-Dade won’t even let a genocide stand in the way of their pay-offs.

Dear FAC, when you say “DO SOMETHING NOW!” are you asking us to send out the alarm or is this article going out specifically to a news outlet?

If you are asking us, I’ve contacted two national news organizations in the hopes that they could help expose what is going on in Miami-Dade County in regard to the growing numbers of homeless sex-offenders.

If there’s something else that you could suggest we do please let us/me know.

Thank you for all you do.

Asking members and anyone reading this to reach out to the media and call in all resources they have to stop this (and make the general public aware of it)

Maybe we should ask if there is a van that could be donated to act as a shuttle for our people. This way they can at least reach civilization a couple of times a day.

All our efforts are focused on fighting the law that got them there. That’s the only fix to this problem.

        Dear FAC,
I’ve sent an email to HBO’s VICE News, another the The Rachel Maddow show and another to NPR asking their help in exposing this injustice. I’ve asked if they cannot take the time to report on this to please help in providing the name of a reporter or news organization who could help. I’ve also directed them directly to you since you are better equipped to answer their questions if they decide to tackle this issue.

I will continue to shop around for news organizations willing to help.

        Thank you.

What about the department of sanitation?

Isn’t there a law about no water?

What about gps? I read that some were having trouble charging them as it is.

        What does the ACLU say?

ACLU is active in the litigation and this is another thing they are tackling. I will advise on next steps shortly.

I am a registered citizen in Tennessee. Do you think the public actually gives a crap about what’s happening to homeless sex offenders in Miami? Most of the public you’re wanting to inform are probably in Ron Book’s cheering section. Most people think there’s no such thing as too much punishment for sex offenders, especially those who have victimized a minor.

The Books should be truly ashamed of themselves, and what they are willing to do to fellow human beings. If they truly believe this is a way to live your life how about they do it for a min. of 6 months? Then see how they feel.

This is absolutely crazy. What’s wrong with that guy ?? Life sooner or later has a way of dealing with people like Ron Book and his Miami Dade corrupt cronies.

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. Ron Book and the Miami Dade idiots are already for years been the laughing stock among the intelligent and educated here and around the world who read and see such foolish nonsense like this. I hope one day soon these corrupt stooges get kicked out of their positions and never come back.

It’s really disgusting to see people treated like refuse. I’m sure it will be an area where emergency medical services refuse to respond too. Absolutely shameful!

99 are on probation and can’t leave.
Many have family and homes here in South Florida. They would have to leave their families behind

That’s one of the problems I had when paroled. Had a good job lined up in western Michigan, but parole department insisted I spend my 2 years on parole in the county where my crime was committed. Was not able to land a job there the entire 2 years, mostly because of school zone restrictions.

Not to sound too negative, but why should they leave?? This is their home just as much is yours and mine.

They are leaving under threat of arrest. If they don’t, they will be arrested. If they are on probation, they can potentially go to prison.

If we own or rent real estate we have an interest in the property, their rights to the property are not the same as yours or mine (unless you are homeless too).
