Petition to Declare Public Sex Offender Registration in the United States a Violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)
Today, approximately one-million people in the United States are forced to register as “sex offenders”. The label leads to stigmatization, separation from society, loss of employment, loss of housing and even exposure to violence at the hands of vigilantes. The stigmatization extends to the spouses, children, family, friends, employer and anyone that associates with the registrant. The isolation, shame, stress, fear of violence, loss of income and other psychological effects are experienced by the entire household.
Now 79% still want it. Fortunately, the decision won’t be decided by mob rule.

I gave them my ‘two cents worth’ for what it’s worth. The percentage of those still wanting the registry shows the degree of ignorance that still exist about it and the amount of time yet needed to educate the public.
Charles, I totally agree with you, it seems to me that we have a long ways to go to educate the public.
30% against it is actually not bad. Showing times are changing. Very different from what it was three to five year ago. Facts are spreading slowly, but surely.
THIS is correct. And even more people would have been in favor of “keep it, but reform it,” had they been asked.
Public awareness and attitudes have a long way to go but are far better than the hysteria of 3-10 years ago. Now if somebody in our state would just mount a primary challenge against Sen. Book…
At least we now know how much work we have to do to educate the pubic . They are still being flambuuzeled by political scammers. Poor ignorant sobs.

Well, those 74% should be then asked if they’d support a registry for murderers, drug dealers, gang members, etc. I wonder what they’d say.

Poll is skewed. You can vote as many times as you want. I’m sure people who are pro registry are doing just that. Spend 10 minutes and vote as many times as you can. Funny how they have no comment section.

look at history..its always fun to watch lions RIP strangers apart, or to picnic with the smell of burning human flesh, or buy souvenirs and take the kiddos to watch a crucifixion…..as long as it’s not you its entertainment right?….Leading cause of death last year was the MURDER of human babies by dismembering and lethal injection…do you really expect a conscience from creatures that horrifically evil?..the behavior they are calling legal and screaming in support of makes the worst sex crime right now seem trivial news…really..humanity is something humanity doesn’t have.
