Must Read: Examining Sex Offenders Under Federal Post-Conviction Supervision
An article, written by Social Science Analyst Thomas H. Cohen and Probation Administrator Michelle Spidell, came out yesterday on registrants on Federal Supervision.
No surprise: those convicted of sex offenses in general scored lower on the Post Conviction Risk Assessment (PCRA) and recidivated less frequently than those convicted of non-sex offenses.
No surprise further: not all sex offenders have the same risk of recidivism generally and sexual offending specifically. Among the sex offender types, offenders under supervision for sexual assault were arrested or their supervision was revoked at the highest rates, while child pornography offenders exhibited lower recidivism rates.
Despite these FACTS, which are known to Federal Probation – federal policy recommends that all sex offenders begin supervision at the “highest” risk levels and sex offender requirements are applied uniformly.

Treating each case separately would be too hard for them….and they have dehumanized RSOs so much they don’t have to….
One size fits all punishment which corresponds to the American binary black and white “thinking” or rather the relief FROM thinking.
Examining each case of its own merits would expose the twisted stats and downright lies used to justify the whole mess. If logic, reason, and FACTS were used then their whole house of cards they have build the justification on would fall.
Politicians would lose a tool that is even more valuable to them for manipulating the populace than the war on terror which is the fear factor of the boogeyman aks SEX OFFENDER lurking in the bushes just waiting to touch little ( insert random name here ).
Messy facts would also get in the way of the entire industry that has grown around and is dependant on either keeping sex offenders on that registry or manufacturing more sex offenders (sting operations or the FBI running their very own child porn website) – check this link for info on that:

It’s not gonna be easy when all this political power and money would rather NOT see change and would actually like to see the exact opposite.
It’s crazy that they put people with a non victim crime in the same group as someone that sexually abused a child. Where’s the common sense? And I think most sex offenders deserve a second chance in life if they have went 5 years without even a misdemeanor crime. Let them be free but make it known if they commit another sex crime they will have a 20 year minimum mandatory sentence and a lifetime on the registry. But atleast give people a chance to do the right thing again!
