NACDL: Call to action: First Step Act

Dear Friends,

Last night the Senate passed the First Step Act, 87-12. The bill will now be considered this week in the House!

While the First Step Act is far from perfect, it would provide relief to thousands of prisoners serving unjust sentences for crack cocaine and thousands more defendants sentenced every year for low-level drug offenses, firearms offenders currently subject to unjust enhancements, and defendants subject to draconian recidivism penalties under the federal 2 and 3-strikes laws.

While the First Step Act is just that, a first step, NACDL believes the bill is a worthwhile package that deserves support.

    You should do it for sex offenders who were set up on sex stings no victimins so shouldnot be on registery

    I bet DeSatanist is hoping none of these federal prisoners will get out early and return to Florida with the right to vote out the publicans in 2020!
