Naming and Shaming: Florida city puts signs in front of suspected drug dealer’s home
The city of North Port thought it would be a good idea to post a sign at a house following a suspected drug dealer’s arrest, but many don’t think this idea is a good one.
In fact, police had to take down the sign a few hours after posting it, because there were others in the house who were not suspects.
Similar to the registry, where a red dot on a map signifies a person previously convicted of a sex offense, this scarlet letter places a target on the forehead of anyone who lives there.

Can we also do this for cops who abuse their power? Those cops who feel the need to beat or kill unarmed citizens during a traffic stop? If you do something wrong you gotta be shamed for it, right? According to this “great country”.
How about putting a sign in front of Ron Book’s home stating that he’s an alcoholic drunk driver who may run over your kids? Sounds like a good idea since we have become a country that likes to shame people for life, right?
What about the judge who was caught using a sex toy on himself while conducting a trial ? Don’t even think he had to register

The more the merrier. I know I should not feel this way and deep down I do not, but the more who feel what is like, the better chance at bringing this to an end.
I think this is a horrible idea in all cases. I also am against all registries, but things like this are going to have to happen to get rid of them. Theft related offenses, I assume because of drugs, have the highest reoffend rate. Why is there not a registry for them?
