NARSOL: Florida’s artificially inflated sexual offense registry: More federal funds for the state?

Narsol re-posted Steve Yoder’s article from The Appeal, along with the above image, which I thought was funny/sad.

One of our members shared the information from the article with his US Representative, who responded with concern. Specifically, that Florida inflates it’s number of sex offenders for the purpose of receiving federal grants and then considers those non-existent registrants as “compliant” for the purpose of skewing it’s success numbers.

FAC Members, if you get a chance, please write or call your US Representative and share the article (https://theappeal.org/floridas-sex-offender-registry-proves-inescapable/) and this information

The Out-of-State challenge fund has a new matching donor. The way the matching pledge works, though, is a little more complicated than the Non Registrant Collateral Consequences match, and I can’t keep the numbers straight in my head unless I search my e-mails.

FAC, would someone be able to add an announcement and description of the new match under the Out of State Challenge Thermometer? The one that you did for NRCC was great and I think really got peoples’ attention.
