New Sex Offender Drone Bill Proposed in Florida

We have one of our first new bills for this legislation and this one is truly inspired!

Senator Dorothy Hukill of Port Orange, Florida has come up with a concern; that sex offenders will be using drones to take pictures of children in schools or parks… HMMM… I imagine she’s spent many sleepless nights ruminating over this concern so she was compelled to pass a bill!

According to her radio interview she, admits she’s never heard of such a case, but that “it’s bound to happen eventually.

How about the inevitability that someone with a DUI will drive drunk and kill a child? It’s not only ‘bound to happen eventually’ but it happens! Plus, you can’t really molest a kid with a drone. Also, kids are not running around naked in school and if someone wanted to just see kids they could do it at the mall or by watching Sesame Street.

It’s obvious Senator Hukill is putting up her “sex offender” scare bill to try and earn political points, but it’s more pathetically obvious that our legislature is running out of rules to shove up the asses of sex offenders, if this is the law she wants to come up with.

If Ms. Hukill is so concerned about protecting the kids from things that are “bound to happen eventually”, how about banning anyone with a DUI from driving? Or, if this specific concern is what’s keeping her up at night, how about a bill that bans ANYONE from using a drone over a school or a park. After all, nobody should be doing that! What if the battery dies or the drone breaks and it falls from the sky and hurts a kid? THAT is bound to happen eventually!

CS/HB1301 Drone Bill barring sex offenders from using drones to spy on children (even though the Bill’s Sponsor agrees this has never occurred) is moving through our legislature unopposed … Shocking.

While during this very same session a Bill is moving toward law barring Red Light Cameras in Florida because, according to its sponsors and the FLSC, they do not in any way make the community safer.

    Hahahahahahaha

    I laugh, because if I don’t, I’ll cry.

I thought the GPS idea was stupid, but this is even more idiotic, if that were even possible. How did this person even get elected? Oh! Right, she lives in one of the under-funded, under-educated counties of Florida, where any nameless gorm can get elected! What a truly stupid idea! What’s next? Passing bills for those non-existent personal helicopters we all don’t have, so sex offender can spy on little kiddies at play in their pools? We need some common sense and rationality to return to the lawmakers in ALL of our states, not just Florida!
