OMG! Pastor and registered sex offenders arrested after car wash
A local pastor is speaking out after court documents show he allowed registered sex offenders to volunteer at a car wash that was too close to a school or daycare.
According to the documents, Dennis Potter is accused of allowing six sex offenders to volunteer to help wash cars on Sept. 14.
The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office said the car wash happened near a school or daycare. By law, registered sex offenders cannot be within 2000 feet of.
Potter, who owns Outcast Ministries Inc., a non-profit aimed at rehabilitating addicts, the homeless, and criminals through the word of God, said they have done car washes numerous times at the Outcast Ministries thrift store on Highway 59 and have never had a problem.
“We were certainly not trying to do anything wrong,” Potter said. “The thing about a Sunday, schools are not even meeting on Sunday, daycares are not in business on Sunday. There were no kids involved. These are adults, bringing their car up to do a car wash.”

My question is how did the sheriff know registrants were there?
The Alabama Baldwin County sheriff seems to have responded to the “Woke” vilification of those labeled as sex offenders. This Woke vilification should be recognized as a tactic to distract law enforcement.
Just off the top of my head without knowing the local laws. But can you attend church within the 2000 ft rule. If so the car wash was part of the church service. Like Jesus washed the feet of someone, we wash their car. While making a joke , it may be a valid legal argument.
The laws that deal with proximity and distance are based on “as the crow may fly”. So whenever the person instructed to maintain said distance violates. That in it of itself is the violation, not the church location(even if it was a church function). Restraining orders work the same way.
Outcast Ministries has long given second chances to people rebuilding their lives.
The recent car wash took place on a Sunday, when no schools or daycares were open, and no kids were involved. Pastor Potter’s heart for service matters, so let’s not lose sight of that.
Yes, laws must be upheld, yet context matters.
The Baldwin County arrests came from a Sunday car wash with no children present. We need public safety AND space for rehabilitation ministries to do their work. Both can coexist.

I know this was not particularly church services, however the pastor was guiding and looking out for these people and pretty sure none of them were going to sneak off behind the building and commit a sex offense.
They are acting like we are all wanting to hang out on the corner day care or something with all these insane restrictions. Also, if someone is hell bent on re-offending, no law is going to stop that person.
My comment is more of a question. Has the World gone bat crap crazy? This pastor was helping people that not many care about.
