OR: County couple kicked out of motel due to pregnancy

A Multnomah County couple is suing Do Good Multnomah, a local non-profit, for allegedly kicking them out of their residence based on familial status.

Megan and James Vanness were participants in Do Good Multnomah’s (DGM’s) “Motel Based Emergency Shelter Program,” according to the lawsuit filed in early August, which says DGM describes the program as a shelter that “has transitioned into a long-term model for alternative sheltering.”

The lawsuit further says “DGM also represented to the Vannesses that they could not live at the Barbur location with their child because the location could potentially house residents who were convicted of sex offenses.”

Another example of those in authority displaying blatant stupidity.

Although I feel bad for the couple, now they see what we go through. Having said that, the tables were turned on another group of people (Someone who is pregnant). Reverse discrimination? And We, those on the registry, will be blamed for this incident. More fuel to the fire.
Every time I think I have seen it all, I am again proven wrong.

This is the most outrageous thing I’ve heard in a long, long time.

Here’s the analogy and flawed reasoning I’m getting: This is akin to suing the lifeguards because their could “potentially” be sharks in the ocean.

This country is getting dumber and more “pre-victim” inclusive by the day.

Is the shelter program or a government organization interpreting a pregnancy as a child?

Yes the article is a different take because in this situation the person not on the registry was forced to leave before giving birth since sex offenders apparently resided nearby. Big fan of your work by the way.

        It’s a shelter program

Yes this is sarcasm, but not totally. isn’t this good news? They kicked out the “regular people.”’ and not the registered sex offenders. Isn’s kind of what passes for a win for us these days or is it just “wokeism?”

Can’t live there because the place could potentially house persons forced to register? That makes absolutely no sense at all. If there are no registered persons there right now, then what is the issue? And even if there were, I think it would be better to leave it up to the couple whether or not they wanted to continue living there.
I hope this family wins their case big time.
