PA: Sex offender not allowed in Hospital for birth of his own son.

This is a story that really illustrates the inhumanity of these laws.

We could sit here and be crushed but the sacrifices if this man and others are what empower attorneys to have something to use the next time a judge wants to say it’s not punishment so it’s not ex facto. granted idk how weakly these attorneys argued when we lost ex facto at supreme and other places cuz there are even precedents that say if a mandate is to result in mandatory public reporting that makes it likely that punishment will follow thereof, then either the mandate or the requirement to publicize, is punishment, post ex facto. come on FAC, find a good attorney man who can make the connections the judge needs to see and with real danger criteria by individual, not paranoia being passed off as fact. wish i wasn’t so busy, damn.

If you weren’t so busy you would know we already have a good attorney fighting this fight and you would also know it’s “ex post facto”

If you are referring to the Supreme Court decision that Kennedy did not get right, please remember that was a different time period when attorneys and courts did not have the research that they do now. Look at how some lower court decisions now are already changing. We have a much better chance of winning now than we did back in the “days of ignorance”.

I can relate to the frustration. For a long time I was incredulous over the fact that cases were being won in other states but similar action was not to apparent in Florida. Then I got educated and started actually reading Florida cases. First of all we have a state Supreme Court that avoids all things sex offender and who seems to stuck in the 1950s. Go listen to a case they heard a few years ago about legalizing marijuana and you’ll know what I mean. They are conservative to the point of being uneducated. Also, they live and work in Tallahassee and having lived in Tally for several years it’s an entire world away from any of Florida’s big cities. They are simply living and socializing in a small, isolated hick Southern town which can’t help but affect their judgement on issues. Same with the FDLE and Dept. of Corrections who fight these cases and any criticism over the years has done nothing but embolden and strenghten their resolve in pursuing their conservative world view It seems State officials take almost take these lawsuits personally and it shows in the many crafty, sneaky ways they manipulate the courts draining the defendents resources by filing endless motions even before a judge hears a word. And this is all happening at the district federal level which are expensive cases to bring. So, the bar is high and though there has been a learning curve which lawyers have had to overcome regarding these cases in the past, that is no longer the case and I believe FAC has the best they can find fighting for us. Being a sex offender in Florida is no joke. There are laws, barriers, political issues and social mindsets that do not exist anywhere else. The sheer size and diverse population alone, makes defining and educating the public on this issue very, very difficult. We live in a state where laws come after public opinion and political rhettoric especially when the issue has to do with children and sex. Remember sir, we are home to practically all of the most notorious sex crime cases tried in the modern era starting with Ted Bundy in the early 70s. Don’t let the beaches and retirees fool you: this ain’t you’re average land of the free, home of the brave America – Florida is closer to that of a Police State. So as we’ve told many others, come on down and fight a case here – give it your best shot. More the merrier!

You ain’t kidding that Florida is a police state. I’ve never seen so many cops patrolling and even more than that – SIGNS EVERYWHERE that Police Take Notice. You don’t see such things in Manhattan! I don’t feel safe by seeing a Police Take Notice sign everywhere, I feel entrapped.
It’s like the cops down here are LOOKING for something to make a crime out of. They need to calm down.

A vast majority of us here (myself included) sent emails to that pastor when we ASSUMED he was the one who cancelled the wedding of a registered person. We were wrong. But this story is right here in front of our faces and NOT word of mouth. Why aren’t we sending emails to the hospital administrators?
Let them know that ANYONE can commit a sexual offense including male nurses (plenty of such cases exist).
Also, ask if they would also turn the man away if HE needed medical treatment.
Let’s not just sit this one out. You’re all in front of internet access – get to typing!!!

I just can’t comprehend how anyone can believe that someone who viewed CP is considered a maniac of some sort not even being fit to be in a hospital room with his own wife who was having a baby. This country is doing a poor job of publicizing and alerting the public as to the reality of a conviction for viewing (not producing) CP, even a very small amount. The punishment does not fit the crime for someone like this man. Does anyone believe he would be grabbing small children at the hospital and molesting them? Will he even be able to hold his child? Why is society hell bent on creating monsters out of those who made a mistake. A lifetime of punishment isn’t going to make anyone safer.

The funny thing about child pornography is that it could be images of teens that are 16 and 17 (the legal age in most states) but even though they can consent to relationships with an older person, it’s still illegal to photograph them naked. So when the media or LE says a person VIEWED child pornography, people are quick to assume “toddlers”.
Remember the porn star Traci Lords? She lied her way into the pot industry. She produced FAKE IDs for herself and guess who got busted …. the producers who did nothing but take her ID as her legitimate documents.
So unless the records indicate the age group of the person he viewed, we don’t know if it was a 17 yr old who may have been turning 18 the day after the production of the materials.

Now picture this possibility. Your child is in IC and could potentially die, but the hospital won’t let you see your child for possibly the last time in their life. Mmmmm definitely shows the character of the human race wouldn’t you agree?

Thanks. I will use this to show how punitive the registry is.

It takes a google account to post a review at the hospital’s website: UPMC.com. Since most of us do not have one, a letter could be sent to:

      UPMC Magee-Women’s Hospital
      300 Halket Street
      Pittsburg, PA 15213

      Phone number: 866-696-2433

I hope the Twitter world is hearing about this.

OK, Bea Ware, something I said that I would NEVER do — I opened a twitter account. I went to @UPMC but I found nothing about the registrant not being allowed to be with this wife. Can you guide as to what I do next? I am lost.

Some people on Twitter have posted the article about this, including @DavidWPXI

Replying to his posting is one option, you can always cc @UPMC

The posting is now three days old, and one person replied, “ He made the choice to prey on children. It was his choice. With choices there are consequences. I hope the mother keeps him away from the child. Getting caught is not a “cure.”

For a less hostile environment, you will see that WomenAgainstRegistry posted a similar article just yesterday.

Thanks, Jacob. I tried cc@UPMC and got nowhere. I am Twitter illiterate. If I can ever find the time, I will look for a video on “Twitter for Dummies”.

I want the sites where the hostile people are, in hopes that I can soften them up a little. What I have been through these past 3 years, I do not think anyone can say anything that would offend me. I see these people as totally ignorant as far as registrants go, but they do not know that they are totally ignorant.

What a great approach— to engage those who are ignorant about registry but not ignorant in general. Which, come to think of it, describes most people.

Next time a fire starts on Twitter, I may post step-by-step instructions here. I should also come up with a list of some informative people to follow on this issue.

You can Tweet to them directly. Click on Tweet on your home page and then start your Tweet with @UPMC. At that point, write whatever message you want to send them. You could also put the link to the article & then add your message. You have a certain amount of space to get the message in so don’t make it too lengthy. It’s also ok to use 2 for to, B4 for before, etc. I would also include @DavidWPXI as Jacob suggested.

Completely agree with you. I tried to respond with another comment to you before but it apparently was not PC enough. That is too bad because the time for being nice is over. These criminal regimes broke their Registry toy long ago. They must keep suffering the consequences they have been.

Only corrupt, criminal regimes have Registries. These regimes, and the immoral, anti-American boot lickers that support them, must be destroyed, along with their nanny big government Registries.
