Palm Beach County Clerk of Court suspended, arrested on child sex abuse charges
FAC NOTE: FAC is not publishing this report to shame, harass, or prejudge the alleged offender. The purpose is to make an important point: people who commit sexual harm can come from every walk of life—including people who hold positions of political or governmental authority.
Palm Beach County Clerk of Court Michael Caruso was arrested Tuesday morning and immediately suspended from office by Governor Ron DeSantis on five felony child sex abuse charges.
According to the arrest warrant and affidavit filed in Orange County Circuit Court, Caruso, 67, faces charges of kidnapping, lewd or lascivious molestation, lewd or lascivious exhibition, luring or enticing a child, and child abuse causing mental injury.
In other news: The House Ethics Committee announced Monday that it is investigating Democratic Rep. Jimmy Gomez of California over allegations of sexual misconduct, including “inappropriate sexual contact with a House staffer.” SOURCE

God is not Mocked what a man sow he will reap!
The Book of Ester there was a man who made Gallows for a certain people only to be hung on that same Gallow that he made.
I am not here to say he did it or not… It’s different now when its somebody in a position of authority.
Gov, Desantis ally is now facing the death penalty.
My Question: How did the Registry prevent this man from his alleged offense?
The redacted Statement of Probable Cause is now in the public domain, and the allegations are worse than I imagined. Prepare to be triggered.
Well…this is what he said to the police when he was interviewed…”Caruso claimed the allegations were “impossible” because sexual deviation is directed toward only one sex, and since he’s attracted to women, he couldn’t be a sex offender”.
We all know how stupid is the above indefensible assertion made by him. Now, wether or not his arrest is a good thing for us, I don’t know….but looking at it from a different glass, I think is awful for us because the media paint it as horrible as it really is, because it is really horrible. And that is the perception the public will have. And because of it, there will be a strong backlash against registrants
Surely his arrest is a good thing. If anything, it suggests that the woodchipper advocates sometimes have something to hide.
Will it trigger a backlash against registrants? On the contrary! After all, he was not a registrant!
The sex offender registry completely failed to protect this boy and his family.
And that statement he made to police suggests how completely in denial he is. If he ever gets out (and he’s already been denied bond), he’s gonna need some serious treatment.
According to his bio on the state representatives’ website, Caruso was a Little League coach for 30 years, and also a cub scout leader.
So you think possibly others may come out of the woodwork with past alleged grievances against him of the same nature? Again, people in positions of trust are those who abuse the most according to the stats. How did the registry prevent this again?
Well, he doesn’t have to go far to pay his court costs lol. You know on one hand he broke the law which everyone in this forum did, whether severe or not, I’m not the one to judge, but on the other I feel for him for what’s coming, if convicted. You know, it’s kind of a silver lining because even though it sucks for this man, it’s a good thing for us already on the registry for 20 plus years because it exposes the failures of the registry.
